    Gravy,

careful with the turpentine though. That stuff rots brain. Hard to paint when you can control your hands.

Snap, only your 3rd oil ever? Well played dude. None of the facial distortions bother me at all, I think it works for the fantasy subject matter. I do agree, it's a bit too blue, some warmer colors in the right places would make it really sing. Keep painting!

Okay, its been a while, Ive got a few snapshots of some stuff I'm working on. These are all WIPS, pretty much, or just initial sketches I did before I draw them on nicer and larger paper.

This one is actually a pig fetus that I've distorted and screwed up pretty much. We have some preserved animals in our biology lab and I drew the fetus one time, (although I lost the sketch) and decided to draw it larger and mess with it.

The second one is for something Im gonna enlarge, its just an initial sketch.

And the last is just for kicks, I drew that on the back of a board game's cover when I was like 5.

Hito- Thanks man! Yeah I am, all windows and fans open and on. Although I'mna take a break from the oil painting now that were done with it in our class, I'll go back to it in a few weeks maybe when I gather enough money to buy some turpentoid and less scented materials.

Andy P-hehe my friend justified the facial distorions cause of the rhyme and humpty falling. Yeah, I gotta pick on color theory a bit more. Thanks for stopping by!

Hyver, Some_guy/Mike - Hey guys, thanks again for the loads of help youve given! I really appreciate it!

patdzon - YEp, nasa pinas pa ako! Init dito! Grabe! Masaya din naman ang ulan minsan, hehe, signal 2- walang pasok sa hs!

Just a quickie...I should start posting my sketches.

Anyway this is for my art elective:

Im in the process of painting it right now.

Ill post up the full shot next time, but heres a detail of what I gave my friend for her birthday.

Here is a GUIDELINE, that I fixed up in photoshop. I used the dodge and burn, as well as the contrast options in photoshop and made myself a guide for fixing up the original drawing. Still in the process of re-doing the original drawing. Most of these crits are from a bunch of people from these forums who are friggin awesome and some from my own crits.

I really love how your pig fetus has fleshed out (oh, so punny!) You really took care to render out those little skin folds and veins and it shows that you really enjoyed that bit. You sicko! it's great that you did your own photoshop fix as well, you've caught a lot of the issues that I would have brought up. Heightening the contrast around the head was a good call.

With your latest art elective piece, you're getting more expressive with your faces, but only a teensy bit! I think having the pursed lips and wide eyes is fine for this expression, mind you, but let's see some open mouths and contorted cheeks in the future, girl! I need to amp up my own expressions too... it's hard. ._.

    Miss you tons!!

Steph-too true, gotta open up em mouths and push em cheeks, ill work on those more and ill post em up THanks! miss ya too!

quickie update, i just got a wacom two days ago. Spent almost 90% of the past two days waking up at noon and sleeping at 2 am painting infront of the computer. Most of which ive scrapped and trashed. Especially for the past two hours where ive been trying to do a self portrait and almost tried to yank all of my hair out. Cant seem to draw my friggin' nose. Anyhow I'll post one up once ive felt they looked showable.

Im new to this tablet Thang, so PLEASE Crit. I needsta get the hang of this thing.

When I do SPs I always think about the defining features. I think about what really catches my eye to make a face..a face! I make all the shapes quite simple at the start. Getting the right shapes of the face to start is extremely helpful. Umm thats my 2 cents haha!

Tried another SP. PIcture was taken after the SP; I drew from a mirror. I think this is what I'd look like, 15 years from now, if I went on an all Red Bull diet and stopped eating Krispy Kreme. Tchah, depressing indeed...

Great sketchbook dude! nice new updates ! as I mentioned, I really like the way you draw faces, both digital and with pencils, they look like they are alive ( nice expressions! ) and they are well worked-out, so thumbs up man!
Also* your pencil stuff reminds me slightly of lukias rendering, ( and THATS a great thing! )

Dished, pls check out the "CA.org Local Artist Groups" section and click on "The Philippines" thread. Let us know what you think. We're also looking for more Filipinos here on CA( preferably, yung mga nakatira sa Pinas). If you know anyone, pls direct them to that thread. Thanks!

oi firstly thanks for those links in my sb Dished

that bumskee thread is soo good. im gonna go through all of the exercises and post them. Tutorials are something ive been meaning to get into but i just keep on wanting to complete any idea i come up with. But maybe i should start at the basics eh? I would realy like those tutorials bro!

Awesome sketchbook. i realy like the expressions in your charactors faces, you have the ability to tell a story with the face realy well and thats got to be one of the most important things there is to figure drawing. when you have the head and the hands you can tell the whole story of the pose without it even being all there. Hockney did that realy well, if you can find any of his sketch's or paintings i think they are definnitaly worth looking at. and to think when i was 16 i was struggling to draw lips.
