running winXP on new Intel-based macs with Boot Camp

is anyone running windows XP on one of the new intel-based mac pros? i am well aware of the adobe problem specific to Photoshop on the new intel-based mac pro machines. [it runs PS slower than the dual G5s.]

can someone with a mac pro system answer the following?:

1. does photoshop take advantage of the full speed of the quad core setup if you are running it on the XP partition? or is there some sort of emulation going on that slows it down to the normally stunted speed of macOS on the intel-based setup?
2. are you using a PC keyboard [ctrl instead of command key] or the mac keyboard?
3. in general what has your experience been running XP on a mac pro?

This here are not facts, just how it should work:
The new Mac hardware is the same stuff that you use for Win-boxes so the XP that you use via bootcamp is a normal install, like when you install Linux on a Win-box. Bootcamp you makes it easy to partition and get the drivers. So you are running Win natively, not on a virtual machine (that would be http://www.parallels.com/).
So the answers should be:
1. It purely depends on how Win uses the hardware, because there is no emulation with bootcamp
2. It should work with Win commands
3. No idea. But it should work ok. The only problem being that some Win installs can't use a lot of RAM (someting above two or four gig but that could have changed because MS were patching these problems, there was something on the Adobe site about that regarding PS). IIRC the multicore/multiprocessor stuff is fully working in XP, it just depends on the software to use it effectively.

It's not a problem, except that is written for a different architecture (PPC) so Intel macs have to run non-universal apps like Photoshop in a emulation layer (Rosetta), hence it runs slower that if it was native for intel.
But that problem it will dissapear as soon as Adobe publish next version (later this year or beginning of next one).

Fund this yesterday. I think it came with allt he new iTunes and iPod news. There will be an Rosetta update (with OS update). IT will be 10 to 30 percent faster IIRC.
