Grizzliman Cheers dude Its good to know my hard work is paying off though I still have a long way to go. For the later skull I used normal Cs. I wouldnt have been able to make it though without the helpful advice, tutorials and people on this site, especially Bumskees digi painting tutorial.
Wakazou Thanks alot man!
Uppy For Today
Ive got a slight addiction to indian ink. Today I had fun first time using oil pastels with white spirits.. and man Im so highFor college im studying francis bacon so I have to make some strange fucked up images in his style, which was fun! Pity Its hard to get the colour scanned through properly.
Btw the last image sucks huuge testicles.

Keep doing exactly what you're doing

Grizzliman Heres the thread dude http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=47859
One must is to show other people your work, that way youll be able to eliminate and learn about the errors you make.

Only idea...
Anyway Cya!!
Doodles
Small update, some wierd stiff doodles and a Photoshop experiment.
Trying to get some more practice with figures and quick concepts latley, So I had fun scribbling away.
wow mate, i should have checked back in here sooner, you are coming on leaps and bounds and i love the amount of work your putting in, your stuff from your imagination is already heaps better than a couple of months ago, keep at it, try to keep that nice balance between 'creative' drawing and tecnical studies you have got going, very impressed with the last post

strong update, keep at it mate!![]()
Grizzliman I think its a very good idea. I might go find some other forms of skulls to do at some point. Its good inspiration for creatures etc.
DannySketch Thanks for popping by, I think your right with balancing. At this moment in time I think I need a top up of obsy drawing. need to feed my brain inspiration, shapes and ideas.
Wakazou Thanks dude!
Mini uppy. Im really having fun with these quick concepts. I used a reference for this, Its not like me to use references really but I think it helped. not sure if its a good idea really, what do you guys think?
Id really like some crits please.
I just went through your stuff and it seems like your improving keep doing what your doing! Try seeing shapes of the figure and and cut in you detail on those small black and whites. Keep at it and keep posting more stuff! XD
Orc
I think it would give a better result if you finish in detail the colouring.
Then you wil get more credit i think......
Keep posting!!
Il stay tuned.
'ey thar ol' chap!
Bad ass concepts you have, really cool stuff. If only your anatomy was up to par with your ideas, you would be pro! Keep it up.
Heya Mister, nice SB you've got here. Good to see someone who's serious about updating regularly. I see you're onboard the mighty Domes team ...Woot... gotta add that to me siggy, but I think I'll wait abit until the membership is more nailed down.
Well enough social blather...hehe...crits:
You have some excellent concepts. However your forms sometimes lack the energy to express them effectively. I recommend some aggressive observational studies, don't be too particular or detail-oriented...just block in some interesting shapes.
On figures: again, nice designs, and the anatomy is pretty decent, but the poses really seem to be a little staid and starchy. Bump it up with some contrapposto and action poses.
Umm, oh yeah, and when your doodling up some concepts, don't just let them lie, revisit and rework them; do a page or two of thumbnails to hashg out the alterantives. Even if you end up sticking to the original doodle in the end, you need to brainstorm and compare to insure that the best ideas rise to the top.
sketchbook...a kitten dies every time you don't comment
“When forced to work within a strict framework,
the imagination is taxed to its utmost – and will
produce its richest ideas. Given total freedom,
the work is likely to sprawl.”
- TS Eliot
post 102 has some cool sketches, i love the india ink skullwork too ^^
keep it up, have you tried the "mashed potatoes" line yet on a girl? =P

Merry Christmas, Mr. Man! Or whatever you celebrate.
I'm lovin' the critters and characters you're posting. All the hard work you've been putting into your art is really showing in the finished products. However, I'll have to echo some of the previous crits: you need to work on your poses and your anatomy. Still some very nice stuff, though.
See you around.
hi Mr Man
like the last post. I can see some real improvement in here. I look forward to seeing more.
Hey peeps thanks for all your support and help! Ive been pretty busy latley So I havent had much time to post latley, what with going to san francisco and xmas. Ive made a small timetable for myself and I should be getting some good anatomy studys, observational drawing and life drawing.
Im having a browse for life drawing classes locally as Ive only had 3 sessions of it at college this year which sucks total ass!
BlackGuy Thanks for your support man! your always popping in to help outYeh the whole value thing is something Ive been trying to get my head around latley. Slowly getting there but hopefully my obsy drawings should help out alot with this form business.
Beelow Thanks dude!
Grizzliman Thanks, I have to say I rushed that orc abit. I wanted to have something to show in my portfolio for the san fran workshop which was kinda foolish in away.
Frank Wade Dude! was awsome meeting you in americanoI didnt realize how much my anatomy needed refining until marko and kevin went through my portfolio hehe.
BludHund Thanks for the advice, Its opened my eyes alot. I agree with everything you have said. Action poses should really help to bring out the character, plus I never really create moving characters so its good learning for me. Also the thing about going back to old concepts is a really great idea! Ive got so many ideas on paper laying around that need refining so Its a good thing I havent thrown my old stuff away. Thanks again!
hp Cheers emily ^^ I think Ive lost the potatoe charm
Moai Thanks for visiting dude!
SantaClaus Thanks Santa ^^ thanks for the prezzies too dude!
You called this guy rubbish, but I thought he was one of the more enjoyable characters http://conceptart.org/forums/attachm...1&d=1165179277
May your studies be fruitful in the new year.

Ok thought I needed to get my ass back in the Sketchbook. Heres some Moleskine stuff. This book is tiny btw and the paper is slightly toned though my scanner doesnt really pic up on it too well.
Crits on rendering welcome![]()
