Hey man, thanks for stopping by my book, you've got some really nice stuff going on here. The armor study at the top is pretty sweet, pencils are nice too. Keep it up.

Hey, thanks for the comment on my thread, and I hope it's cool but I hooked up my signature to include the SSG37.

Looking at your thread I've really enjoyed your pen work. The room studies are great. The variety in line weight really helps the image. You've got some concept images a few pages back that remind me a lot of Feng Zhu's work. They're really loose and you used some great shapes.

    Looking foward to more.

    Hi Matt,
I enjoy your work. You have some strong concepts going here. I would love to see you develop more of your recent character designs. The faces for the "Dreamcoat" poster look wonderful although I think the other elements of the illustration could do with a more developed finish.
Looking at your drawings, it seems you would benefit from more varied line weights. Something which helps me, is to rough out my drawings with a hard lead pencil, {like a 4h} and what it does is keep my arm more fluid. It is like painting the paper with a pencil. I find that it is good for me to work from a more visceral mindset and I can easily erase the light lead lines as I detail my finished drawing with a darker lead. Drawings seem more fluid when drawn from a free elbow. I don't know if that all made sense to you, but if not, I will attempt to clarify. I want to see more, man. Cheers

    !!! Sweet cheeks !!!

Heh, no seriously sweet ass update. Your environment sketches are great. The perspective used is great, I feel like its done so well that just looking at it taught me a few things. And even past that, they look like your most confident sketches in this update. You drew each element with as few lines, placed just right, I think that really helps make them solid.

Funny in one of your sketches says to slow down. I actually think you should speeeed up! Don't be afraid to whip out the character's foundation lines with a hurricane of lines. Example of the thumbnail of the knight you did up quick, and I find it has some great.

Harhar: Speed up you to say? Uuuggh I dunno about that. I am always telling myself to concentrate and see the lines before I put them down. That was at like 4am and I was all out of brain power. If I do posemaniacs they don't give you time to think... just brain-hand GO! lol

thanks. Glad you like the environments. markers + perspective = win. I learned a lot from a Feng Zhu dvd and Carl Dobsky... cept carl made my brain hurt.

everybody digs the environments... I should do more and expand on a few. Then I'll be a leet pro asap

It's gonna be like a tiny fraction of the actual map so not much detail color in this one... actually I think this has more detail than the other one...

If you like using markers for environments I think James Clynes dvd would help a lot.

I think you have improved a lot since I first began posting here. Your drawings show a much more loose approach.

    Hi Matt,
I think your figures are improving. Your designs always work. Intensive work on draftsmanship and you become unstoppable. If you start using markers, get "Copic Sketch Markers" everything else sucks next to them. Easy to blend and control.

Great deer drawing and Yay for gestures! Keep doing those...

Matsign, Hi and just looking at your work, very great imagination and your studies are coming along... You have the guys down in my opinion with all of the angles but some of the woman's faces need a little face shape attention... #398 of sketches is really amazing the I love that guy with the spider and the bald guy is awesome.... also the monster, I really like it all!!!!!

Really like the story boarding you did witht he perspective invironments, your character still lack a solid feel. Have you tried blocking important bit out, and see it u get em right? Usually you dont need curves until production qualtiy if u get me

    Keep rocking on!

more live drawing. what do you guys think about the contours? We get 20 minutes for each pose, give or take 10 mins. I'm used to structuring out my figures because I want to get the proportions down right. Should I move on and focus more on value now?

more art dump for the moleskine. hands were done from memory and uh a lot of the figures are from imagination unless they have a decent looking head attached to them, otherwise from observation. Being trying to lock down a habit for doing gestures and from live drawing in public.

Hey gang. You see that shit about a free demo tomorrow from TAD? I hope I can get in! If not, there will be free streaming video anyway...dude yes.

Here's some live drawing. This is all uninstructed, and I could use some some instruction. Got back into my bridgman book and figure gesture vids.

Nice work, your last life drawing shows a beautiful use of shading to give it form and depth.
