    cotron's blackbook v3 || 2.20 || drawn and quarterly

Hey everyone- my website did a bit of deathrattle and I lost a bunch of the stuff from my old thread, so I figured now's as good a time as any to start anew. I've also started up a sketchblog on my site that I'm trying to update daily as well, so if you got time to kill, check er out!

this is for a sketchtrad thing, robin chiyo did a quick sketch of the head and I elaborated on it-

Ah! A fresh new sketchbook to subscribe too. Great start on this one, and like always I am awed with your brush work. I picked up some brushes a couple days ago and have a sketchbook dedicated to it.

    Never stop posting man.

    Hey ol' buddy, cotron

Nice start to the new book. I really dig the sketch of the girl with the plaid skirt. The antelopse concept is cool. But I don't see any temperature in the pic. Can't tell if it's warm or cool lighting.

Can't wait to see this book grow into another powerhouse.

    woot!

Fun starting a new sketchbook, hey? Fantastic start mate, your ink works always astound me - lovin yo' lines! The rhino is very believable, but fruitgirl is my favourite so far. Kinda has me thinking of Wes too.

    now, MORE!

You sketching with brush and india ink here, or are you using a brush pen? I'm digging that new montgomery page, the chick in the booth is great. Thanks for the intimate blogging too... maybe next time I'll get a blumpkin?

    awesome new stuff here.
The only thing i can add is the background on the last guy needs a bit more, and the colours are a bit bland.

Really love the pen/brush look, the pieces in your sketchblog rock. The treatment of line is so expressive.

2b boy- I'ma try to keep up with this book, my life is busy busy, but the support keeps me postin...so, thanks!
interceptor- hey mang- good point, the temperature is a lil nondescript, might go back and toss on a warm wash layer...
    hurricane- thanks man!
flex- thanks pat, hope to hang with ya soon.
    asoir- thanks!
demented- thanks man, yeah, wes has a few of the fruits books too, they're great reference material.
bojee- thanks alan! good to see you around here again
    jake- thanks!
strychie- the brushy stuff is a cheap pentel brush pen i got from japantown, it has some nice drybrush stuff. but, if you're looking for a good dip ink for the splatter/drybrush thing, sumi ink is fantastic for it. smells great, too... looooove yoooooou!
blanquish- thanks for your opinion- the colors need a pop, i agree- i get caught up in trying to make things too neutral... the background's just a throwaway too, not much thought put into it
    gaijin- thanks!
amishcommy- in soviet russia, miles escape YoooOOoou! 8)

stuff, a lot of it's double posted on me blog...

one of the few sp's i've done in recent times i don't hate enough to hide...

back to the grind for me, thanks for stoppin in
