xbrianx - I know what you mean, still trying a lot to get looser. Force yourself to use big brushes. Now i have the problem that i often leave an image too rushed and unfinished, i guess you have to find a good balance. Ideas i don't know, they just come. A lot from books, movies and looking at other people's art.

flamable - Study from Photos and nature helps a lot, i always try to observe the environment when I'm outside. Just practice, practice.

JustinBeckett - Hey, thank you a lot for the constructive comment. You're so right, I do that too much. Work with the same schema again and again. That feedback definitely helps a lot, i will remember and work on it!

Walid D - Thanks for the feedback!

bubs87 - Thank you for stopping by!

dlqudknr - Haha yes, i know i do too much enviros. But I'm starting to get into industrial design, anatomy later

    bubs87- Thank you!

Chupacabra - Thank you, always an honor to have see you in my little sketchbook!

kinjura - Thanks for stopping by!

I'm alive! Been pretty busy with work and learning 3dsmax. I had no idea that 3D is that much fun
I'd like to recommend this book if you have no clue about 3d (just like me) and want to get into it: http://www.amazon.com/Introducing-3d.../dp/0470097612 .
    Anyways, here's some pics

Those monoliths are so much bigger than the city itself. You have a great eye for the skies, I'd even say it appears to be one of your specialties. I can't critique this because I've never done an environment before, but I can say, if I were inside of the city you've created I'd want to head to the top of one of those huge buildings immediately. Maybe those are the Japanese supercomputers of the future, who knows.

    Keep doing you

Thanks guys! Hope you all had nice holidays

Stuff for work, some tests with (photo) textures to get faster results, still have to do a ton of these. And some rough spaceship-things!

hey man, nice enviro's, in post 190 i like those curves a lot. but what i do find weird is that the scale difference between those small buildings and those big buildings is immense, while there are no buildings that are 'in the middle', scaleweise.. hope you know what i mean.. but i really do like them, reminds me of mark goerners pieces for superman (http://www.grnr.com/gallery.php)

Wow. Absolutely stunning environments. The colors are so vivid. I love it. Subscribed.
The first step - especially for young people with energy and drive and talent, but not money - the first step to controlling your world is to control your culture. To model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. To write the books. Make the music. Shoot the films. Paint the art.

Very cool handling of the edges and usage of photo textures. It is really hard to get them in without making a mess.
    Thumbs up,
