    Hey max!

Good to hear you had fun at Insomnia.
I like those thumbs you made! Cool to see you do the 'scary' fast ink stuff, i think the retired gentleman got a point there And the figure poses look good also.

Keep going, and a belated happy newyear!
    Cheers

good to see you sticking to your word and updating man! i'm really digging the gesture studies of the breakers, but what really pops out the most is your environment thumbnails. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing more of those. And the retired man was right, being scared definitely doesn't get anyone anywhere. Jumping head first into new territory is not only bold but refreshes the eye and allows for an easier transition into experimentation with other media. Either way, keep it up man. The progress is there, cheers.

Baraka... I love that movie. I really enjoy that whole genre, actually... the "endless music videos". have you seen koyaanisqatzi?

    Gestures: Amazing.
Environment: Amazing. I REALLY like these.

What I meant by best/worst update is that when you change your mentality in regaurds to your art so abruptly, your first few sketches will always seem to you increadily shitty. I really admire how you seem to have dropped your anxieties about your art, too. It takes balls. I wish I could do that.

Then again, I'm looking at a career as a professional illustrator so I suppose I SHOULD be worrying about myself atleast a little.

    me, me, me. blah.

    Keep these crazy updates commin'

Love those thumbs from Baraka man, ace tits. Sweet movie too. Check out Chronos for a similar vibe only in time lapse photography.

I have to check out Baraka. After reading what wrote about working with ink I was surprised to see the thumbnails, nice! Studying from video seems like a good substitute when you can't draw moving figures from life. I can see the depth or 'space' in these gestures.

Is it still like 70 degrees in New York?

    Hey man.
It's awsome that you're crankin' out some awsome studies and whathaveyou, but that would really be cool is if you completed a nice polished piece or two? You've been improving in leaps in bounds, now it's time to apply what you've learned to some finished piece

Good job on the landscape sketches. Rough looking, but they seem to have just enough detail in them. Same with your breaker sketches. You get a lot of mile with a little line (if that make sense).

Are the breakers based on actual live models?
