!!!! Sketchbook !!!! Update Oct 05! big one :D

hey guys, i tought i could post some sketches and wips of mine, they`re not very good, i kinda lost my touch...I bought myself a wacom the past days and i`m still trying to get the hang of it..feels kinda weird tough,hope u can help me out with some tips and tricks

i expect crits for everything i post..here we go :
a 5 min sketch colored fairly in ps...

still a quick sketch for a friend of mine`s flash game...a NPC store keeper or something

later i`ll upload it colored a bit...he wants it vector style

I really like to see you develop your artistic abilities in visual arts. You are growing up to be a really complete artist (unlike me

) Cheers on the new SB, hope you keep it upt to date.

Now then, about the sketches, I really like the fact that your line is strong. Thats a real bonus for anybody who goes into character designh (judging from whato you are showing here). Keep up on the anatomy studies and overall keep up on the study.

P.S. An artist is a man that can capture the world that sorrounds him to transmit to the others his toughts, feelings or beauty...i don`t think an artist can be complete as long as he is alive

thanks dude..as it seems ur the only one keeping an eye on me but as long as you have 1 man to hear you speak, your not totaly mad...so i`ll try and update it daily with more and more sketches!

Nice update.

As for crits: The archer seems to have his left arm twisted in a unnatural manner. The eye needs more work as it seems wip and the lines are not that strong.

thanks dude! the ...Thing wasn`t suppose to be anything but grew into a cyborg thingy with bad proportions...maybe i`ll sketch some better ones as for the eye, it is a wip i think i will finish it

Making a sketchbook is always a good start.
The eye WIP is looking nice.
As for crits: I think you should try to do some studies and stuff from reference, it'll really help to improve your proportions and anatomy. Also, watch the placement of the features of the face: some of the faces look a but big for their head.

Good stuff man! Good with all that anatomy and such. This sounds shady, but I like the mans but on the penultimate paper. Got a nice sence of weight there. But weight seems to be somethin that you have forgotten a bit in most sketches. I suck on it too by the way. Like for instance the guy on the same paper resting with his elbows on his knees. His shoulders should be higher cuz of the weight of the torso. Such things. But thats not much, itsall good. Keep it up!

hey there, thanks for stopping by in my sb and in the photo thread! nice of you to take the time to comment there. so let me return the favour as good as i can: i really like your sketches, they have a very clean line quality and a good variety of lines, too.
the last sketches show a lot of improvement, i especially like that you're using guidelines to show the form and proportion. the faces still need a little work and maybe more studies from reference and/or life. it's easy once you get a hang of it: normally the eyes sit on half the head. half way between the eyes and the chin is the nosetip and halfway between the nosetip and the chin sits the lower lip. that's a rough and "ideal" guideline (and probably you already knew that...), but it helped me a lot. after a while, all those proportions come quite naturally and mostly you don't even have to think about it. i'm sure, you'll get there in no time!
same with the body. the head measurement system is a good way. i think, darktwin has a little sketch in his sketchbook describing that...

hello people, sorry i haven`t been arround but i`ve been busy...i`m now an admin at a photoclub over at deviantART so things started building up...
