Unwashed masses, heed the call of the poll.
Yes, with a vote on who deserves it most.
No, I am a nazi.
Unwashed masses, heed the call of the poll.
yeah, yeah... I'm a Nazi, so sue me....
i say yeah, even though FlexMathews and Flaptraps did not do the same quality of work in the last round we all know they are capable of, a LMS without them seems somehow lacking. maybe if you give guys like that a second chance they'll feel obligated to "Bring It"
sure why not?
more art is better
more challenge to more poeple making more people work on more art......so what's the problem again?
it's only a few and we all know there were rounds where in an over all poll the second place person kicked ass too
so yay wildcards!
Chaos Rocks!
You always know there will be puss outs...so if you don't like people getting a free pass you have to vote yes!
Quoted for truth. I'd rather see someone brought up fromt the first round who didn't quite "bring it" enough than see someone move on to the third round uncontested.Originally Posted by Sundance

if one of those people who LOST round 1 was re-admitted,
and went on to win the event, it would be pretty unfair for the others.
uncontentested win or not, thats the roll of the dice.
ITS A THUNDERDOME.

Nazi, for the same reasons DSillustration gave...
Come to think of it - if this was the real Thunderdome...
...They'd all be dead!![]()
What I like about voting people in for reserve slots is that it rewards people who fought valiantly in the face of adversity. There are such things as double-elimination tournaments, so I don't see any sacred pact violated by letting the best of the worst get a second chance. Some of the best pieces lost, so if we want the best art in this contest, I'd let those few people fill the pussout slots. It's not hardcore, but it makes for a better show.
I'll go along with wild cards, BUT---nobody gets a second chance if they pussed out in the first round unless they had a mechanical problem beyond their control. I know we had one or two of those...

and falling in lovew doesn't COUNT.... even if there was a mechanical problem. I get 40 spams a day trying to fix that one
which is hilarious cause .....well ./..nevermind
hold a lottery for wildcards. do it by chance from the round one losers who were in rounds with split votes (you'll notice this eleiminates me)
chaos
chaos..
I disagree chaos... I say have a vote (Maybe among the judges?) on the best of the pieces that lost, regardless of who they matched up against.. have them vote on which their top 5 or so are, using numbers, you know what I mean. That way people who really did do a GREAT JOB but just happened to meet up with someone one notch better, still get the chance they deserve.
DS is right... I vote NO
( edit : also I guess I don't want to have flaptraps come out of nowhere against me or something... hehehe )
I'm an N to the A to the Z, and I.
DS said it perfectly.
what a buncha poops...
more opportunities
more art
chaos
Nazi here...I mean this is a Thunderdome, is like asking to perform necromancy!!

Heil lieberschnitzen.
Rock on DS.
If that person were to go on and win the whole thing, stressing IF, then more power to them in my opinion. That means they dug down far within themselves got their shit together and pulled off some friggin killer work. Take for example the last rounds of the first LMS....they were in-fuckin-sane. No picnics or holidays there and I'm sure LMS2 will be no different.Originally Posted by DSillustration
And not to mention IF they get knocked off a second time...well then, no harm, no foul, with a stipulation that they can only be placed back into the dome once..not multiple times.
Besides, where's the harm in seeing more work rather than less and letting the other contender in the match just slide on by? Just my two.
QUOTED about a 10000000 times... couldn't agree more. Honestly, maybe it sounds rude but it's a contest of sorts..you lose or puss out..and that's it. I think it's just as unfair that someone moves on to the next round by default but its equally as unfair for someone who didn't "bring it" or lost to get a second chance over someone else who "also" lost in the same round.. where does the line between fair and unfair start and end?Originally Posted by DSillustration
I say just let the dice roll where they may and let the tdome play itself out, no voting back in people who lost fair and square![]()
should we rename tdome to "first loser dome"?
nazi here
deal with it
i mean its not like the folks that won the first round would get a second chance if they lose the next round or round after that so to be fair no way should anyone get a second chance
hell ill jump in with penalty votes for not being in the first round at all
but no second chances
I dont think it should be about whether its fair or unfair, these are the rules, cody takes the time to put this all together so if thats how he wants to do it then its his choice, just likes its your choice to compete or not.
also its not like there is a prize or anything, it should be all about having fun.
Matt.. if cody wanted to choose he would have- That's the reason for the poll, to see what the masses have to say.
Fairness depends on perspective. It's both fair and unfair for many reasons to allow people to get voted into the reserves. Plus, one thing that people aren't mentioning is, the reserves list won't be used at all if everyone steps up and does a piece. Is that going to happen? Probably not.
It eventually boils down to what Thunderdome should be and what it's meant for.
It seems to me it's meant to be a motivation. Motivate a bunch of people to compete, to complete some kickass artwork, to show off, to trash talk, to have fun with our comrades. The competition is part of it , it adds fear and drama, it makes people pull out something insane, it makes you stretch.
Now the question that I think should decide your answer on the poll is do you think allowing people who finished some good artwork from the first round to fill in the people who puss-out will counter any or the things that make Thunderdome what it is? I personally think it makes competition fiercer, will make those that lost try even harder and will create some entertaining drama as well as some more cool art.
Who do we want to reward, people that tried hard first round and want to give it another go, or people that don't care enough to make a second entry?
Just my humble, biased opinion,
Chris

to some extent i agree with those not wanting the poll at all, but i just want the guys that are capable of doing awesome work to do so. it's selfish i know.
Ok... I've decided!
Drumroll...
I choose 'Secret Option No.3! - Couldn't give a shit either way cos I'm gonna royally kick all yer whiney-bitch asses regardless!'
...
...hmm... bugger... should have noticed 'extra secret option No.4 - Special NOOB option - fresher's opinions are not required... I will therefore keep my trap shut and pretend I'm not really here...'
Oh well... Too late now!
BRING IT!![]()
call me a nazi, i guess... all the extra hubbub leads to more time between rounds... and losing is losing, anyway.
i'm for second chances. but only for those that actually submitted a piece in the first round. those who tried hard.
maybe make it like on the first lms, where only one or two,or max five are voted to get a second chance.
i don't think voting will lead to more time between rounds, mainly because the topic is already set,so the round is on already![]()
