I don't play too many games anymore. But I had to pick up the special edition of this game for the artwork alone. It's my favorite art book, now![]()

I was so disappointed when you first posted this thread because I didn't find the time to save it before it goes away.
I think this post is definitely worth the Best of CA section since it covers the whole production of a game design. And everyone is so f**kin' talented too of course. Very inspiring. Thanks for sharing again guys.

thanks for the link Flaps!
That was without a doubt , a spiritual experiience!!!! Right now Im lighting up a cigarette and cuddling the screen.
Breathtaking work! Someone asked earlier about where you guys were educated. Seattle has two art schools with good animation programs, The Art Institute of Seattle and Digipen.
Did anyone go to those schools?
I registered here just for the opportunity to applaud the phenomenal and breathtaking beauty of the images presented by the Guild Wars art group. I, like many here, bought the Collector's Edition so that I would get the art book (as I really enjoy art). So when I saw that there was an online version of it that included some images that weren't used I immediately made my way here.
And I am not disappointed.![]()
Keep it up you guys, I am really looking forward to the Nightfall art (I'm sure you guys can make me appreciate even the desert stuff).
TinFoil: In the end, whatever methods and tricks to the trade to get the desired effect. You do however pull it off admirably well. Stellar work indeed from yourself and the team.
Am Looking forward to seeing more artwork for the next campaign: NightFall and playing more Guildwars of course!
i felt the same way. and because i mod this section, i even looked through the soft-deleted thread, but there was nothing left =[. but i was stoked when i saw it appear again.Originally Posted by Living Rope

I think I have found my heroes!
I am stunned...do you guys use a tablet to draw this, or do you scan it in, then color it etc..
This stuff is jaw-dropping![]()
I like art.
Thanks man. As far as a tutorial, I've never had the discipline to save/record the intermediate steps I take during the painting process. As a matter of fact, I go for hours without saving, which occasionally results in catastrophic losses when I have a crash. Fortunately, RagnarX periodically screams '"save now, dad!!!" from his station next door. I guess kids can be useful after all.
Ha, recognise that no-savin' mentality...
Got a bit glad that your not one o them 15-year-old-super-duper-unhumanly gifted guys since ya say you have a kid. theres still some hope. So I guess your a 25-year-old-super-duper gifted guys...
Awesome stuff - you're great at the whole old school drawing and new school digital stuff. Keep up the awesomeness and take care
p.s. I'm more old school, and yeah... I've played GuildWars![]()
If it were socially acceptable - I'd wear a cape.
