I wish I could've gone to this. However, I am seeing Eric Clapton in concert that night so I guess its not so bad.

    Mike -
    man,
    you missed out.
modesty aside, i have to say, this event rocked!
this art out loud was much more intimate than the others.
fewer artists, but really in depth demos.
both donato and todd produced nearly finished works in the 4 hour time span.
i didnt take any pics, but hopefully someone else who did will post them here.

huge thanks to Dan, Irene, Donato and Todd for pulling this together. Like Dan said- more intimate and it gave the attendees more of a chance to really focus on the individual artists. As great as the last event was, I felt I got little snippets of the artists' techniques. This time I felt I got a complete overview of Todd and Donato's process- as much as could be done in a 4 hour period.
Again - thank you so much. I plan on taking advantage of every one of these events.

Thank you to Irene and Dan for putting all this together.
Thank you to Micheal and the fine folks at the Society for the hospitality.
Thank you to all the CA folks I got to hang out with, and my apologies to those I missed.
And, of course, thank you to Donato and Todd, for everything.

Top notch event! I really enjoyed it. It was an effective set-up with lots to absorb and everyone was really friendly. I definitely feel I got a lot out of it. Thanks again Dan, Irene, Donato and Todd.

It was a great event. I wish I were more awake but, watching Todd was great, and Donato was great as usual in his Donato fashion. I cant wait for the next one. Im not going out the day before this time.. Well, I'll try not to go out the night before and maybe I can join the crew for some grub after. In any event.. Until next month!

Deschamps- Didnt know you were there.. Would have liked to chat with you...

Hey Vigostar. Yeah too bad we didn't get a chance to meet. Maybe I'll see you at the next one. I was the bald blurry head right smack dab in the middle of timpaatkin's first photo.

Thanks to all of YOU guys for coming out to these events and making them possible!

And thanks to Todd and Donato. They gave up time from work and family to share their process with us. It's very much appreciated, guys!

And thanks to Dan for being a great event partner and to Greg who gets roped into helping out in everything I do...without ever complaining.

    (Pictures to come tonight.)

This girl on the portrait has a personality of Jeanne d' Arc, stern, fanatic, self-forgetting and fragile in the same time. There is so much suffering and pain and fear on her face. And huge effort to overpower all this. Hard inner work, even struggle.
