Dave: Shades of Falling Down? Awesome.
FOOXOO, awesome painting. Love the imagery and lighting, and the lyrics are a great touch.

krytical error-that is the second most ridiculously huge entry ever, but I dig it.

    nice stepdad, DavePalumbo!

After seeing them in montreal, I recognized them right away. the likeness is INCREDIBLE.

My wife saw Loomers pic before I did, and she cracked up!

Great work Loomer-man! Both Zebs and I already knew you were gonna destroy us, and I don't think you dissapointed... Don't worry, we both had a similar idea too, but couldn't have pulled it off as well as you did!

If that's the best Marko could come up with, we'd better get a decent-sized hole ready and some volunteers with shovels...sounds like he's gettin' ripe...

    Aha, thread 2

Will try and offer feedback on each of the individual pieces. Will only mention what I like and dislike most, not everything there is to like or dislike .

Take it only as personal opinions, they may very well be worth nothing .

Appologies for maiming the English Language and for the typos .

    Match 31

    Rusty
+ Solidly executed, colors, composition, lines work well.
    - Seems just a fight not quite particularised for "Welcome to the beginning the end".

    threeeyesworm

+ you had the guts to do this in pencil
    - anatomy perspective and rendering

    Match31

    krytical error
    + Cartoon style, liking it
    - too much saturation all over the page and not enough color subtlety

    Psychoh

+ Monster finding child that might ultimatelly be their doom.. Aye that approach is interesting .
    - Rendering anatomy and composition.

    Match 33

    Shamagim

+ The ideea, the chimps especially the ones in the foreground.
    - The poor perspective on top of the cilinder and on the hall in general comporomises a promising piece. Colors could have done with a bit more thought.

    Stokes
    + Nice character
    - Not quite a "Welcome to the beginning of the end" illustration.

    Inkfish

+ The up going bood is an excelent excuse for interesting graphic shapes, colors and compositional flickflacks
    - The ideea was not quite used at its fullest. Also the face bugs me a bit .

    Match 34

    young paddy1

+ Very nice illustration, colors and composition.
    - Although it can be the begining of the end (heck almost anything can be the begining of the end ) it does not say that to the onlooker.

    TheBrave

+ On the subject, nicely rendered.
    - Depth could have been better suggested and the sky is a bit too rough. But you probably knew that .

    Prophet
+ It has robo Homer Simpson in the foreground ( Silly as it may sound I really dig that ). a solid ideea color-wise.
    - Perspective is quite absent. so is detail.

    Match 35

    Sinix

+ Combining two illustration approaches in the same work. The Rendering of the craracter, tarmac area and the lower part of the blast ( and the traffig signs underneath it) are ver nice.
    - The rendering of the upper part of the blast and the sky. And the trunk of the car in the foreground.

    arghmisfit

+ Good composition (though I think the briefcase would have looked better in his other hand).
    - Too rough

    Match 36

    Kingcoyote
+ Nice ideea with the card layout. It has a story in it.
    - values and perspective.

    loomer
    + funny and nicely executed
    - minor perspective issues especially when it come to the writing on the floor. Artist X owning artist Y shots (although fun), seem a bit .. out of fashion if posted in a final image TD thread. Again , just a personal opinion, not a fact.

    ZebzFree
    + funny haired Golliath
    - Colors should be affected by depth. Anatomy.

    Match 37

    dark sephiroth
    + cherry blossoms
    - Perspective and lighting

    Schlo-mo
+ Nice textures on the ground, nice ships/aliens.
    - Farmer John sort of ruins the shot and composition with his placement and odd lighting. From the background I had the sensation this was an overcast day yet his face says otherwise.

    Shadoman
+ Lots of character and a story going on.
    - Perspective and lighting ( colors do not quite influence each other as they should. For instance I would expect more light to bounce off the child onto the demon-ritualist).

    Match 38

    Groover McNab
    + Nice graphic shapes
    - The face and the edges of the solid black could have used more tension.

    danomight
+ some subtle color variation and the floating debris
    - Anatomy and lighting .

    dougbot
+ Almost everything. Loving this piece
    - Did it really need text ?

    Match39

    yAdam
+ Very very nicely executed, love the spirituality and fantastic feel of it.
    - The colors of the atmosphere and the shapes on the clouds do not quite click with me

    Evil Sloth
+ colors used. Red used for accents is nice
-Red accents are too present across the page, and it undermines the red effect. Colors should receede with depth. Cloud shapes. Perspective.

    Red_Rook
+ Mecha Shot! Nice buildings and well defined shapes on the mecha
    - there seems to be quite a bit of light inconsistency .. light on mech comes from the left, his shadow tells us theres should be a sun above him yet his top sides are not high in value; the buildings along with the far end of the mech seem to come out of an overcast day.
Will appreciate critique anywhere, anytime .

Had to cut the post here because it was too long to get posted .

    Onwards!

    Match 40

    Pritch
+ I like th unveiling ideea Also there's definitelly creepyness in she shadows
    - Too much solid black. Anatomy.

    loizze
    + Well drawn human figures
    - gratuitous penises. Needs more mood lighting.

    Match41

    strych9ine
+ Nice spiral composition. Yay for freakyness factor
    - Drapery and distribution of light /dark shapes

    Pupil
+ ideea of the benevolent yet hideoudly depicted death is nice
    - lighting composition and anatomy

    fooxoo
+ Colors and bold light angle.
    - The text steals the focus away from the illustration. Perspective and lack of details.

    Match 42

    Carnifex
    + Drawing a crowd.
    - Hasty depiction. Coould have use a lot more time.

    Gloklund
+ Good colors on the sky. Story elementsare there .
    - No highlight in the foreground. The sun is obviously hitting them directly.

    Mr. Visions
+ Go go painterly visual impact I like it a lot.
    - I'm sure you know about any minuses

    Match 43

    Mitze
+ Props for going classical with "beauty and the beast". A solid ideea.
    - Anatomy lighting and perspective are in their infancy still

    Mecha Hate Chimp
    + nicely executed
    - A bit too simple to tackle the subject seriously.

    Main Loop
+ Love the twisting rails and the bit of... surrealism(not sure about the word, english is not my first language)).
    - Rendering needs to be better to grab the onlooker

    thirdeye
+ suicide bomber is a great illustration ideea
    - peroportions ( especially on the buildings) and believability of the story. Why is he doing this outside ? Why is noone alerted? You are not using several of the idea's ways to grab the onlooker.

    Uziel
+ Suicide bomber ideea. (in the same match, what were the odds. Does Jason have that effect on his competitors? ) Very believable pose and situation.
    - Rendering could have used more time and work. Wall texture for instance does not add to the piece.

    Match 45

    James Kei
+ Nice feel, nice tenstion, yay for pink t shirt accent .
    - nothing big, some lighting inconsistencies and maybe textures too present here and there.

    anders89
+ Can't go wrong with baby birds and radioactive waste.
    - Needs more work and more kick to grab the onlooker.

    Grendel Grack
+ nice colors, shapes, face, style, ideea.
    - The girl needs more carefully drawn feet, as they stand out. her right upper arm seems maimed.

    Match 46

    BOON
+ I like the slightly tainted art nouveau thing you got going on there
    - color would have added a lot more kick. Maybe too much freakyness for the sake of freakyness.. might drive a lot of people away.

    Jens
+ I like it, to the point.
    - Rendering needs tightening and white background is a cheap solution, but I'm sure you know that .

    Match 47

    Pixeldragoon
    +Bold lighting
    - Seems like a colection of details that don't stand together quite well.

    LENTZ
+ Brinking the Kong into this
    - Don;t quite like the colors and composition. Dust does not look like dust.

    thief
+ It has a Dune universe -like feel to it, I like it Salusa Secundus
    - Depth suggestion leaves a bit to be desired. Also could do with more details on the centers of interest.

    Match 48

    Smitherines
+ Nice colors, solid shapes, solid action.
    - To me it seems like they are doing a tandem dancing routine mostly due to the legs and the somewhat 'mirror' arm poses

    JasonChan
+ eloquent and to the point. Nice values and use of red.
    - You know the minuses

    Makk
    + Wide vista, bold ideea
    - Not enough interesting detail to properly populate the wide vista. Composition and lighting are not quite what they should be.

    Match 49

    DavePalumbo
+Profesionally illustrated, light colors, composition top notch
-The ideea does not quite catch me, a middle aged man with guns... and nothing else ?

    Michael CTY
+ Nice lighting concept, a lot of care went into several details and surfaces.
    - Some anatomical issues. The characters need to pop put more or the background needs to compete less I think.

    EVIL
+ The image reads out instantly. Love the hard edged cube coming out of the flufy clouds, very.. tactile sensation.
    - Design of the mecha , blue of the sky might be a bit too blue

    Match 50

    dirty c
+ I like the colors and the shapes
    - A few lighting issues ( they way her left hand is shaded) and color perspective (the far back elements sometimes don't seem that far back) .

+ Solidly executed, on the topic
    - Something bugs me about the composition, maybe the fact that the picture is uderlining too hard the barrel of the AK47 ? Or maybe the fact that the eye cannot read the child's face and head with ease when his expression is half of the kick from the picture. Don't know for sure.

    RES
+ Nice composition, lovely apple and serpent
    - the woman seems to be several "art levels" lower then the rest of the illustration, (except her feet ).

    Match 51

    voraz
+Nuclear blaston battle field nice ideea
    - Anatomy composition perspective and colors need more work.

    0kelvin
+ It is an armpit hair!
    - It is only an armpit hair. And this is the tunderdome .

    GreenTopaz
+ Outer space ( i think it is the first one with outer space in it)
    - Ideea is kind of hard to sort out. Rendering composition anatomy and perspective should be better .

    Match 52

    Vigostar
+ Like the face of the 'doctor'
    - The figure in front does not quite read as a figure. A bit uninteresting on the whole (on a very personal level)... no aliens, no mutants, no sci fi no fantasy..

    Koroshiya001
+ Nice shapes on the creature
    - Way too basic. Seems you just did that to make.. something.. anything.

    ploboyko
+ nice spooky mood, freaky creatures.
    - bad bad clouds .

    Match 53

    Hyver
+ Really digging the whiole "mad circus" thing you got going on.
    - You don't need me to tell you minuses .

    flex mathews
+ Lots of nice human figures and nice horseys too,
    - Composition does not quite grab me and show me something.

    Oregano
+ NICE wyrm, nice situation humour.
    - Not so nice warrior especially the lower part. Also the text bubbles seem a totally different style then the illustration itself.

    Match 54

    Flatliner
+ the bad guy reads well as a backstabber of sorts
    - Anatomy colors composition...

    purb36
    + Funny factor

    Krez
    + funny
    - Not really an attention grabbing vision.

    Profil
    + Values are in place,

+ Walking in the open mouth of a skull
    - ... is maybe a bit too cliche

    Match 57

    Gaboartpage
    +Nice values, Nice monster design.
    - you know the minuses

    GHill
    + nice use of shapes
    - A bit too far from realism for my personal taste.

    Invinvicblewombat
    + Nice basis for lighting
    - Too rough, anatomy is not quite there.

    Match 58

    sirgreensock
+ dancil with the devil ideea
    - anatomy, colors, composition.

    eriboss
+ painterly textures and shapes .
    - too esoteric for a concept not much else to understand beside painterly textures and shapes

    Yumiko
    + Nice boney muscley things
    - The blue accent placed in the lower part of the picture sort of messes the attention of the onlooker. Is that what you wanted the onlooker to see ?

    Match 59

    staceydiana
+ The color accent and the story that is.. 'emerging'
    - Little else to see beside the color accent

    Erilaz
+ Begining of the end .. miseducation.. i like that
    - Anatomy, lighting

    ThrillzillA
    + interesting nice atmosphere
    - anatomy and not well enough defined details.
