Just wanted to drop a big thanks for showing your process on livestream. I gave your method a try and it's really fast and easy.
Love the cute creatures!
krato: thanks! I'm glad to know that people appreciate the process images, cuz I really wonder sometimes!
placeboast: that's too funny that we had such similar backgrounds with music and artkeep working hard!! the unsharp mask + add noise will make sketches look a lot more finished. It's just a cheap trick!!
frank: I only just realized that your name is frank backwards...
teapo: thanks!! I'm really glad that u find it helpful!!
bombeur: thanks man! I'm really glad u liked the livestream!! I will try to do another soon
two little popsicles while waiting on feedback/approval on work.

haha I do like that little critter, what's going on with his mouth though? Are those lips spiky?
Help a 16 year old kid out with some critique, my sketchbook
NiceThanks for the fish process - it's always a great pleasure to see how you work

Loving the green thing! Its tail looks a bit flat though, you could play a little with atmospheric perspective (a little more, I mean).
The other creatures are just as sweet. Can't see your vids now, I'm at the college library, but I'll go for them as I get home.
Thank you man!
on the kitty...
The green's all wrong, but the red is PURRRRRRRRRRRRFICT.
Beautiful.
And maybe the red wouldn't be so perfect if the green wsn't so funky.
I change mind.
Love it special;
if brain ever steals, it's accidental. cuz brain WILL take this.

[ *nabs on purpose* ]
The fishy thing... it's shocking to me how many processional steps were involved.
Like him, too.
I'm always seems to be the nabbing at will.
really inspiring character design..

Absolutely love your colouring techniques, I suppose it's all about the rendering really. Do you just work out your darks and lights and then build them toward each other?
Great stuff.
spook-: thanks! the mouth is... I just wanted some creepy lookin' lips, didn't really think too hard about it...originally it was going to be like stitches or teeth or something, I tend to avoid thinking too much with these warmups...
thirdeye: mmmm I'm real glad u think so
abrodos: thanks! yeah the tail is flat cuz I didn't really render it out instead I just smoked it out with white.
william b hand: haha thanksI like to take colors I think are ugly and try to make them work. I think if I spent a bit more time on it, I'd be able to fix the green a bit to make it look less poop.
william b hand: I don't really know what u mean by nabbing and stealing...but I'll take it alllll as a compliment![]()
sutapa: thanks!
porg: thanks! rendering mmmm I wish I could set aside more time for rendering personal stuff, but I am actually really enjoying the freelance work I'm doing [character illustrations] so despite not having rendered stuff to show, I can still do these quickie doodles which are about 1 hr. About the darks and lights, I don't really know what u mean, but I think that's basically the idea. setting up the lighting, and then mashing the lights and darks into each other with some saturation.
here's today's warmup before getting into my freelance.

Hey scooter, thanks for that little walk-through there!
TEXAHOLOMON! these little creatures are really rad man, loving all the lush colors on them. Not to sure how I feel about the face on that last one, the roundish forehead and the snout combined with those eyes just screams abnormal to me. Cheers.
those are some cute litlle creaters, it must be the big head and eyes they have
, liked the little kitty like one the most.
Nice work man, I've seen a few of your livestreams and they're great!! Don't have much free time lately so I'll have to catch up with them on demand or something. Warm up sketches are great before getting into freelance shtuff, keep posting man!

I was re-organizing my website a bit, and found this image I forgot to post. Got the chance to do some portrait painting while visiting my friend dan [henchman21] before I left the country.
first time painting a figure from life in a loooooooong time. had a lot of fun, tho the results weren't that great, i really look forward to doing some more soon.

Devin you make me want to sing songs for you.
Everything you do is like good food. My attempts at making songs fail but that's okay because you are just awesome.
Your traditional painting is so good. Like food. hahaha
Anywayz keep on being Devin because he's awesome
Take care
