    Raven tatoo

A while ago i decided i want a tatoo on my shoulder of two ravens(hugin & munin), so I have been looking for a drawing of two ravens for a good while now, a few months, but never found one that feels right. And now for the reason of this post, I see som really good drawings here and if anyone of you could do me a favor and draw two ravens for me I would be very grateful, if it feels right you will get your work permanented...at least for another 60-70 years or so

I haven't decided if they should be sitting or flying. A norse touch wouldn't hurt but is not a requirement. If you have any questions feel free to post or here email me.

If this post breaks any rule or is posted in the wrong forum feel free to delete or move it.

haha o man i want to get a tattoo of the same subject, hugin and munin. talk about a coincidence. good luck on finding an artist to do it, try a reputable shop near where you live and scout out the artists there, since they will most likely be the ones who will tattoo you.

yep! and I've only had one person actually follow through on getting the tattoo after I drew it... everyone else has flaked out. I just recommend good tattoo artists now, instead of wasting my time drawing a sketch of a dragon and a snake riding a butterfly on a yinyang (with some tribal flames).

I drew my bro's tattoo, it started with just a head and a few years later I did the body to go with it. He actually got them, but yeah, a lot of people ask for tattoo designs not realising that what they are asking will take hours to tattoo and cost several hundred dollars.

dathui: depending on where you live there will be more or less tattoo shops, be sure to ask the guy's portfolio. All serious tattoo artists have one, and the ones who can really draw will have the original graphite or marker version as well as a photo of the result tattooed on someone.

Ahh...Hugin and Munin...nothing`s like the symbols of the old skandinavic beliefs tattooed on your body...i hope you are a beliver , because you will apreciate it more Hmmm...go to the local studio and ask there. Btw Hugin and Munin aren`t a very original choice for a tattoo...I would suggest that you give the idea a little more thought before you go to a studio...

Heh, jokes aside, I'll move this over to the non-paying jobs section so that you might have better luck finding an artist. Be sure to share pics of your tattoo when you do get it!

Yes... but I always get people that say something like, "If you draw this for me, I'll get it tattooed... no... seriously, I will!"

I had a girl awhile back come up to me and say that if I paint a picture for her, she'll actually hang it on her wall!

Thanks alot. If i actually manage to find the right picture i'll share, we'll see.

I didn't think artists got asked to draw tatoos so often, some of the replies were quite tired. I've been to a few tatoo shops and few have ravens at all, and fewer less has two of them in one tatoo. And so far i haven't found two ravens that feels right...

Dathui, did you ask them if they did custom designs? Even if they don't have ravens on their walls if they are good they should be able to design some for you. Which is why the advice I gave about portfolios.

They will also be more enthousiastic than us since they are getting paid for this...

Sorry if we are being cynical, it's not personal.

If the tattoo artist you plan to go to (or the studio he works at) can't produce the proper design for you to your satisfaction on paper first then you definitely don't want to use him/her to scar up your body for life.

Getting the tattoo artist to do up the design first is a good litmus test to see if the artist is worth using for the ink.

What you should be doing instead of asking people to find it or draw it, is search out a tattoo artist. Check a bunch of studios, look at portfolios, and see who's the artist for you. Especially ask to see custom stuff, then you can see if they have drawing ability. Once you decide on your artist, you can have them draw you acustom (one of a kind hopefully) piece.... thereby eliminating the middle man, and making your problem not a problem.

What area are you in? I'm an apprentice myself.

qitsune: No i did not ask them if they do customs, I will the next time thou.

Don't worry, I don't take it personally, was just a bit surprised by all the tired replies. But I understand you folks, getting asked to draw a tatoo for the 24665464th time and only 2-3 of them actually getting it must be kind of tiring after a while.

spacemunk: Thanks for the advice I'm in Sweden.

I will check out some studios and see what customs they have done, thanks for all the advice.
