SantaClaus - correct on the spidey and thanks for your continued crits. About the girl, the lines will clean up a lot if I continue on it. When I scribble it's kinda ugly hehe, I know how bad it looks.

Saikin - hahaha ok ok. Took like 7 hrs to build that damn thing.

Well, I've been reading this book now and I'm learning a lot. You might be able to tell which ones below were the first attempts. First one is from my head, might take it further. Found a book on horses at the bookstore and figured I'd try it out for ref. First ever horse drawing, I think I ought to learn more animals so there will be more. Hopefully I get good enough to not need the ref material at all.

    Thanks guys

Tossed some random colors on goblinshark's pencils. I had something totally different in mind but then I played with the hue/saturation and I like it better this way. Kind of an ice queen look.

    Hi again

    Hey Bob,

Love the panty girl a few posts up, very clean and good looking. Consider coloring that one!

On the last post, her right arm seems a bit too short, especially given the perspective length of the left arm.

Also the head/neck/boob tie-in doesn't seem right. Neck a bit long, head too small/round, curious what the thing is falling between her boobs and what's pulling it down like that too.

I think if you spend some more time on it and fix some of the issues it would be a cool image. I wish you'd put a face on her though, you make such good looking faces.

Nice stuff there Marley. Horses are solid and the refs aren't too shabby either. I like the ice queen...very supple...I mean, well penciled!

Wow! The Hogarth-studies look good! When I started out here, Mentler told me that a little Hogarth is good, but not too much... Mix him up with other stuff. Hogarth is very very good for learning dynamic stuff, but his take on anatomy is very.... bubbly Gonna finish the colors on the Ice Queen? Looks like it's heading in a good direction for sure!

nice sketchbook, i like the pencils...the anatomy is improving very quickly, and that is good.Keep refining your pencil skills, they help with all the rest.
If the last one is from ref, its beautiful. If its all your, then it's absolutely wonderful, very nice women indeed in this sketchbook (and that's always a good thing )

    keep em coming

    Great stuff!
The Hogarth studies are fantastic, might have to check him out. If your looking for other people to balence out your studies, George Bridgeman and Loomis are great. The plus about Loomis is you can get him for free off the internet if you do a little searching.
    Keep it up man!

Damn, I've been away for over a month. Believe it or not, this little color scribble is the only art related thing I've done since my last post. Went to FantasyFest in Key West back in Oct. and been busy as hell with work since I got back. I even worked 6 hours on thanksgiving.

Anyways, I meant to do this last time I posted but I want to go through your replies and visit your sbooks too. Very cool of you guys to stop in and comment. Will hopefully have saturday off so be expecting replies in your sbs soon.

Working out a color scheme for this thing, also the shot is cropped. The piece is a bit bigger. Any suggestions?

I'll say it's Wonder Woman...make her ethnic (other than white/caucasian)...Just to add a kick of flavor! Maybe Middle Eastern or Black? Just a suggestion.

Man, great hands there mate! I struggle with them, so I take notice when someone draws them really well. Great sketches, I think you should invest in doing more speed paints. They will help you with color. Don't be afraid to throw down more color. if you're hesitant, afraid you'll fuck up a good painting, just start a new layer and mess around. Photoshop really gives you that advantage without entirely ruining a piece. Keep after it.

    Keenox - thanks man! Tryin.

Spray - sup man, long time! I forget about the wonders of photoshop sometimes. Hesitant is the right word, I gotta break outta that.

Saikin - wonder woman? nope close though. I'm toying with your idea thanks!

BlackBeret - thanks! I do too, planing to color it proper one of these days

DARAF - thanks man. Fort Myers, retired old people capital of the universe

    tekdj
    - glad you like them! I had good fun out there, definitely something different out there

    Cup of Joe
    - thanks, not much progress as of late, but I almost always get better after time away from the pencil.

    TheGnoll
    - Thanks for the props man! No ref at all, was a quick sketch I almost scrapped too.

JoeHell - sure thing man, thanks!

    bouroune
    - hehe, plenty more on the way

n1va - coloring in progress, hopefully better than my last colored pieces

dCepT - Thanks bud! Little variety doesn't hurt, you're right.

Saikin - hehe thanks, but the well penciled part goes to the penciller, GOBLINSHARK

GOBLINSHARK - overdue thanks to you man!

    tekdj
    - no, I gotta drop by your book more often hehe

    wookiedabo
    - trucking away.....just really slowly

n1va - hope you saw GOBLINSHARKS sb, that's where I got it

Bought the new transformers dvd this week, watched the movie like 5 times already. Good news is I don't cry anymore when optimus dies, must be getting old. Hotrod suck balls so bad, I never liked that guy.

Never drawn TF before, figured I'd give it a shot. Used my dvd for ref, but the sketch is all my own. Had to ref certain things like the giant diaper he's wearing, one of the many things that still need tweaking.

Also, first pic of the bunch is of me at fantasyfest2006 in key west last month. 7 days of the craziest shit I've ever seen, makes mardi gras look like a pta meeting. It's like a week long, day/night halloween party. Had to pimp Bob, what else would I be?

For some reason I can't remember commenting here before.
Your colors are definately improving, but they seem a little desaturated to me. I tell everyone this, but if you haven't, check out The Peer Project V.2 in the Communtiy Activities forum. Fantstic stuff, and read through V.1 if you get the time. I also personally suggest that you really try not to overdo it with soft-edge brushes.
    Keep it up!

Hey Bob, I haven't checked back for a while, but you need to draw and post more damnit! I like the color you started on that piece but I want to see more more more! You should try to really finish a piece, w/o something finished you can't really showcase the improvement and we all know you're improving.

Anyways, the last post was funny, horny women rule!

PS. I also like the pose on the girl with the wings, somewhat disturbing image that one.
