    MrBobMarley sketches...................portraits...4-20

So I lost all the pics from my old sb thread. Thought I'd try a fresh book. I was thinking about the sirens from the greek stories and mermaids today. Don't know what it'll look like tomorrow, just kinda going with it so far

Little progress this morning. *edit* Changed it again, got rid of the crazy eyebrow, got a ways to go.

Thanks dCepT, I hope to finish it soon.

Working on a bunch of new sketches and work, planning to dump them at once. But for the sake of something to look at, here's some of the not too embarassing stuff from my last sb. Putting these in here will also remind me of my faults and why I need to keep trying.

Thanks for looking fellas. Those aren't pastels, they're prismacolor pencils, my favorite medium. The bottom 3 in my last post are prisma pencils, the last two drawn on black matboard. I want to get in the habit of posting an image everytime I post, nobody wants to just see text. Couple old ones.

A lot of people aren't used to it, kind of like me and painting

Some new sketches. Trying to wean myself of the hairy line work that's plagued me forever. Also, skimmed the best of CA forum for a while today. Made me realize all I draw is oversized, musclebound characters(look below) when not working from reference. I hope to remove that block over the course of this book.

heh, the coloured stuff and all the women are beautiful dude, lookin great on that front. you seem to be in mucyh the same rut as me when it comes to drawin blokes. they look good, but bulky. ive kinda been recently drawin just standing poses and simple gestures using the clothes as a focus for the form, rather than the anatomy of the figure itself. that seems to be workin for me, in that i tend now not to draw such heavily muscled characters. just my take tho. all in all lookin good.

I applaud you for stepping outside your comfort zone so publicly, its a difficult thing to do, but if you keep to your word, stepping out of your comfort zone will pay bi dividends later on down the track.

btw, thanks for the comment in my sb, much appreciated.

Harr, you draw pretty ladies! Im liking your style quiet a bit, i dont mind a bit of beef, im not quiet sure about something with your recent quick sketches, maybe theyre a bit stumpy? Or their heads are too big in comparison, not quiet sure what it is.

Knowing my poor judgement of proportion im probably talking complete shit but nevermind. Give more updates! Do a female streetfighter character that way I get the best of both worlds!

wow, looking really good here, mr.Bob Marley! Such good understanding of colors and values!!!
i can see that you love ladies, and they are all looking really good,
but personaly i think you should focus even MORE on male studies, since they arent really on the same level.

    My post was just randomness...

Nice Chun Li...what about a...uh...I dunno, Cristie from Tekken? or perhaps an even more sexified Milla Jovovich (is that even possible?)

Thanks for stopping by and commenting guys I'll visit your sb's soon if I haven't already. And I'm 4 years from 2 bakers' dozens old.

Here's some new ones. From the mind, except for the last one and the hair on the little face where there should be a eyeball on the big face.

Hey, nice updates! Your chicks are rockin'! I always make females look to masculine, which ultimately makes me question my sexuality *sigh*, but yours are dope. Huge fan of the Chun-Li. Small crit, she's swayin' a little. That cow is pretty tight too! You should make a small island that he's standing on, cause the waters a little shallow there . Thanks for the crit-swap bra'!
