Ok, my Lemmy for the Caricaturama 3000 weekly contest.
Last Friday I was offered to work as concept artist for a videogame... but I wouldn't be paid! You win on company's benefits... Excuse me? I said no.
Hi!
I've been busy last months. I'm not a professional illustrator, so I have to work in something else. The thing is I've been drawing a lot anyway, but focousing in make things right. That's about shapes, color, lots of sketches, but, the most important creating a way to work, to make illustrations, a methode.
I'm with something for an agency I hope I'll be able to show on next months, but for now my new illustration.
I've had this illustration in my head since last year, anb I changed my mind many times, but this time is the right one. I don't know if anyone know the Oddworld saga, one of the best videogames saga I've ever played, meaning the artwork, the ambience to be the best... This a non-finished - the amphibius sking is waiting" - poster remaking the saga, the style... I'm crazy to see this finished!

Nice work Zarquino! Take a look at this strange second-elbow, or this is a particularity of this anatomy? It's very strange and all my attention was in this highlight, maybe it is so hard to only represent the muscle volume.![]()
Thnak you Xisco - xiscogoyer! -, I didn't realize, but anyway it was a "tricky" light effect - this doesn't mean it was working -. Fixed!
Today I've been adding more detail, textures and hair. Hair? Abe did'nt have hair! In the initial sketches he had hair, I guess they erased it cause of the difficulties that hair brings to the whole game - animation, etc -, but I like it. I know it's more a Connan than Abe, but it's what I wanted, an avenger, not this simple guy who used to say "Hello, follow me".
I've tried the way Dave Rapoza works - first bw, then a little color, more color, textures... - and I think it works well. Obviously Im not Rapoza, but, well, one has to finde his way!
And a little detail of the face:

I needed to darken everything, change lights, bla bla... OMG, and still the bg to do. But it's ok!

Finally finished! Som many things changed, but now!
