great studies man...I think with your digital rendering you have too much detail in your shadows which is kind of competing for attention with your highlights, flatten and push back the shadows more to make the forms really pop

    keep updating man !

dunno if u need a crit for a doodle but ill go ahead anyways, her hip area looks kinda confusing to me, and her left leg (her right our left) looks kinda noodle-ly. I know girl's legs can bend like that but maybe you should kinda hint at the form of the knee so it looks more natural.

Just my 2 cents, keep experimenting!

Anatomy! Muscle studies look good, also good that you're looking at them in various poses and not just "one back view, one side view, one front view". Is there any particular book you're working from?

I like the halftone effects in the illustrations, it adds a lot of energy. On post 331 the photo study of the lady twisting at the waist. Be careful with her hand twisting at her side, it almost looks broken at that angle. The rest of the body has solid construction.

You and Allan are both progressing really well, your contour line drawings have a nice quality to them like those hand studies, do more!

Btw, i found a real gem of a book in the Auckland library the other day, an Ian McCaig art book! definitely have a gork through it if your there, it's in the art history section among 709 numbered books, I was gonna be a sad fulla and hide it somewhere

Think these sketches here have potential. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1234428228
The lines are a little tense, but I can see the models are so fluid and flexible, really feel the undulations in the contours, get your groove on with them. Try drawing the same pose multiple times, try different directions with the hatching. Purposely make some parts in the background or on the floor or the hair really rough and scratchy, since so much texture is automatically intoduced in the shadows with hatching it needs to be contrasted so it doesn't look so rough.
Here too there are a lot of angular and jagged shapes, which is stylistically interesting, I think making the legs simpler curves would help things contrast more.http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1236060483

    re

Nice sketches from the meet. I notice you probably drawing other fellow members from the group because they are holding still. Don't you hate it when you are drawing a random person and then they look at you dead in the eye, "Damn, I have been spotted"...then everybody starts to get uncomfortable. (At least for me) Someone suggested to me to wear sunglasses, it's great because even if they look at you dead in the eye, they can't really tell you are drawing them or someone else.

Hey man, it's such a joy going through your sketchbook and seeing your beginnings to where you are now. It's an awesome (and ongoing) story of growth which makes me say, "I need to get off my arse", haha. Keep up the good work and I will do the same And your laydeez are lookin' damn fine.
