i am sorry but looks like a pile of elephant poop. That is just my thought
"It's an aesthetic reminiscent of artists such as Rodin and Boccioni. But with a contemporary twist: Their caricaturish portrayals owe as much to comic book legends such as Robert Crumb and those naughty 70s Penthouse cartoons."
NO.
Wow, I'm doin too much work and not gettin famous, I should just drop a clay lump on a creeper and collect the awards.
is she blind or retarded ? I wouldn't go to see her stuff that looks like huge shitOriginally Posted by saatchigallery

I think the fact that it looks like it can fall apart at any minute is its major strong point.
i dont understand whats so good about this stuff.
I found better looking 'art' in the toilet.
While i dont particularly like her stuff, i think a lot of people on CA could afford a more open minded approach to art.
There is a lot more to art than just craft.

I suppose. It only makes sense to be open to different forms/styles of art. But I think it's also important for people to be honest in their reaction to it. It's also frustrating to see someone praised for something when others, who do more work and have more skill, are under appreciated. But associating this (in anyway other than "sculpture") with Rodin? I find that insulting.
Anyways, I just thought she wasn't done here.![]()

People like her, are ass lickers who will do anything to exhibit their crappy stuff.
A lot of members here are amazing and how many of them are famous?
Some of them do sculptures for fun and are way better than her
I'd agree with that, although this is really bad.Originally Posted by ChaosEidolon

So if it looks good, It's craft ( and not art )
And if it looks horrible, it's art!
I saw a big mass of ugly unaesthetic bronzes at the Kansas City art museum, with all sorts of pompous titles. They looked nothing like the human forms that supposedly inspired them. And yet these were 'art'. Even the most unskilled charlatan could have made these. There was no sense of line, or form. It wasn't even good abstract art. Yet he was a artist, turning out ugly bronzes.
Yet someone who can draw, and do representational painting, well he's a craftsman if all he does is portraiture, and makes a living from it.
Most of the abstract artists I do respect, learned how to draw first. They can see what is important and what isn't to the work. They can boil down something to its essentials.
"A Artist doesn't sell out"
Why shouldn't they? How are they different than anyone else who has to 'sell out' by working every day. If they have to paint portraits during the day to keep food on the table, it's called a job. I program during the day, and I don't get to work on everything I want to, but because I do, I can go home, and do I want in the evenings.
This isn't art, this is artschool mental ************, and I saw all sorts of these 'concept' works by undergrads who wanted to be 'out there' because figurative drawing and sculpture was too hard.
It does look pretty bad, but if you observe it, it looks as if its life-size, and notice the base-board its on has wheels. But, as said above, it does look like elephant crap.

Don't be to quick to judge! She did it, that's the important part; and she's getting recognition for it! If you have something you want to do go out and do it! Don't be afraid of what others may think or say of it, then maybe one day you will create something that others will spend time thinking and talking about.

It doesn't have to be technicially flawless to be 'good', but posting this in a "concept art"-forum is only begging to bring forth the narrowminded zealots (Aren't we all?). One way or another, art is ment to evoke emotions.. You're watching a sculpture that, placed in the right environment, would possibly achieve just that. In the mean time, posting sarcastic comments bashing down on a fellow artist's work.. makes you look like... well... idiots.
Another way of being an idiot is to write english like a four year old, excuse my poor vocabulary, grammar, syntax etc.
