15 year old's sketchbook Critique appreciated.

as you can tell, I have a loooong way to go, CC is highly appreciated.

The anatomy is off but I was mainly playing around with using color.

I'll post the other drawings in my sketchbook soon, It's just that my Mom is hoggin the computer with the scanner.

People tell me to use more contrasts (more values), so I am telling you the same.
Looking forwards to see your other drawings.

Keep posting. The more you post, the better other artists will be able to direct advice.

As far as what you have posted is concerned, Xavvaniv is correct. Value is very important to bring out the depth of your art. Don't be afraid to use dark darks, and light lights. It will help bring your art to life. Focus on learning value, before you spend too much time on color. Also anatomy study is essential to drawing people, even stylized ones. If you can't draw people realistically, you won't be able to stylize them believably.

    How is this?

The only thing that bothers me is her lips. I can't seem to get them to look right.

Cool stuff, to improve your stuff I would advice you to do some
life drawings! You got a skull in here, but try to make
it from reference! You already have the basics, so it wouldnt be that hard, but
    it will help you

thanks for the advice Dile! I'm planning on doing some life drawings of a few friends of mine soon

    here is some more stuff.

Some drawings of my sister sitting after her graduation party.

And a tree in my front yard with a mysterious face on it.

and here is the finished version of that drawing of Ed. If anybody is interested.

Do what I've been doing. Take a mirror and take a good hard look at separate pieces of anatomy. Draw them in multiple angles then move to the next. Slowly but surely you beging to incorporate more pieces together to complete a finished project. That's the best advice I was given in a long time, and I hope it helps you. I see alot of potential, but I think you focus more on substance than foundation. I do that alot too.

Good luck, I'll be checking back
He who asks is a fool for five minutes,
but he who does not ask remains a fool forever.

    Starting over.

Thanks klinesmoker! I love advice like that, I'll try it sometime.

And it sure does lift my spirits when someones says i have potential! I've been told that more than once, oddly enough.
