    In the shadows...

    Hi,

Speed painting, took me about 1.5h. Used reference for a building in the bgr.
    Feedback is most welcome,

it looks like a good start,
but i fail to see where the 1.5 hours were spent.
composition-wise it feels unbalanced , too heavy to the right, or maybe too lite to the left.
i guess the BG and the FG could work, but the middle part (located in the given space..) is unsure and not too clear to me.
but that`s just my humble op. try working it out a bit more, see where it takes you.

Good piece, but i have to agree with Chuck's points. It feels like the canvas should extend another 400px to the left.

I wouldn't put down the pen yet, it has so much potential.

Has a lot of potential, but the figure is really weak.

    Hi guys,

Yes, you're right about symethrics. That's why a spent so much time on it; i couldn't decide if i should do it the way it is suppose to be done or the way that i feel the best. So i moved it from here to there, fliped- and flopped it zillion times, etc.

Ellwell: Could you please tell me why do you think the figure is weak? I thought i shouldn't put any highlights and keep it really in the black mass of the shadows. Is that what's missing? Thanks for feedback.

    Cheers,

I agree with stretching the picture out to add some more. It looks like he's waiting and watching something but I don't know what? Is he going to ambush someone? Is he hiding from something? Is there something about that building that is important?

Good looking picture but I have a lot of questions about what it's trying to say.
