I decided to start this thread to force myself to draw at least on a somewhat regular basis. I've been pretty busy lately and have sadly neglected any kind of artistic development, but hopefully this will jump start me. Let's see how long it lasts. Thanks for viewing,

Nice works. You capture the important traits of the faces with few strokes. You should definately develop your talent further! Keep drawing, and post more!

Hey nice sb!, well I dont think the black lines serve you well, It only looks good
In post 7, In the other pieces, they are far to thick IMHO.
You should check out the PS painting thread, I think its in the
Photoshop Section, anyways, keep it up

hmmm gotta disagree on the lines crit from Dile, i love the style man #9 would be my fave, really good direction ur going in but would be cool to see wat else u can do, dont get me wrong, i love this style and u should def keep doing it,just interested in seeing sum other stuff from u i guess....

Those thick black lines make a nice graphical impact and I think it's an interesting style. I also think it'd do you good to explore some other digital painting techniques do get a broader range and a better understanding of your medium. Read tutorials and try out other peoples techniques, see what you can learn from them. Experiment by yourself with different brush settings and different approaches to see what effects you can get. I use mostly hard edged brushes at 50% opacity with opacity and flow set to pressure. You could try that.

Thank you for the crits, everyone. I feel bad because I've been away from the sketchbook thread for a while, so I couldn't really post anything. I also feel bad because I haven't been sketching much lately. I am getting into photography, so if anyone wants to check out some of my latest (photo) work, there's a link on under my signature. Will try to start sketching again soon, and will update this thread when that happens.

Listing: Thank you, yea by the time I start sketching again I will try a different style.

Hello, Nice SB here. You've definately taken an interesting approach to figurative illustration. I really enjoy the Kabuki actor. Some of your work has a japanese wood-block look to eat. Keep posting!

So I realized that when it comes to color, well, I suck. The same conclusion applies to my painting skills, at least digitally. This realization led me to think I need more pratice. So here is a quick attempt with the Sargent brush in painter. Tips?

I think you have some nice work in here. Some of the pieces have slight anatomy issues. I really enjoy the use of brush strokes in your work. Some of your pieces have really simple strokes yet capture the figure quite nicely. Don't stop painting!

So, I'm not sure about this one. I spent a good bit of time on it, but since it's not really polished it's going in the sketchbook rather than the finished thread. But, it is finished as far as I'm going to take it. Any thoughts?

any thoughts? freaking huge improvement on color from you last stuff. I feel your pain with digital colors. The right had looks fat, and the butt looks weird, maybe I can't see the bunching folds in the fabric or something. I guess these crits are about 2 months after the fact, but oh well.
