I had a lot of fun today when I realized I didn't have to please anyone with my sketches and drawings except for myself. That this sketchbook is for me, though you are allowed to see it. I think I've lost a lot of my fear. And here are some sketches I did in OpenCanvas.

use some larger brushes in you digital stuff. Post 182, that's a great philosophy

But since you have a sketch book, it is for other people to view, and critique your drawings. Sure it's just for you, the point of posting is to get feed back and improve. You don't look very confident in your line work, or colors yet! you could go more in depth with studys on anatomy and the color theory. Would really push your drawings alot further, even drawing more from ref also, i have to agree with Pyroclasm00 about widening up your brushes watch the brush economy it would help liven up your drawings.

Hi Hai, i see you have worked more on that blond girl, that's good! But overall I still think you should put a little more in each drawing.
One idea I could give you in your characters work is to make ink lines above your pencils, that way you would be re-drawing it again and it would come out much better, I think it would also be a different exercise from what you normally do and all you need for that is one or two thin black markers and a rubber.
About these last pencils I think one of the problems I see is that every line has the same weigth, try using thiner lines also and smoother shading.
Anyway, the important is that you keep working!

Well done on your first year of SB!

I think i agree with most that has been said recently (even though i only read a few of the replies, so....). I honestly think that you have made some serious improvement especially in the torso part of the anatomy. Every so often you thrown in a really good forearm or leg as well. however, and i might have said this before, you don't seem to take what you do from one to the other and that is a shame cause i certainly do not hope that you feel like you are relearning it with every drawing. it should feel like a progression.

However i DO strongly advise you finish more of your drawings and move on to the next one. That ha seriously been my biggest problem in the last few years and it has held me waaaay back. Try to do your best every time (of course) but don't get too anal about it. You will come back soon after you fisnihed and say "oh shyte wish i had that that more like this" and that is exactlly what you will do in your next drawing or painting. And so on and so forth! LOL

Anyway congrats and keep up the great work. (i promisse not to let the week finish without up dating, even if it is only one like you said! )

I have been trying Painter X lately, but I have to say... I like photoshop a whole lot better. Especially after I downloaded M@t's brushes.

Excellent! Dynamic pose, balance in the figure, good colorscheme and porportions. Much of it indicated which is a good thing. Leaves room for the imagination. Weakest part is the shoes, think it is because you havent outlined it the same way as the rest of figure.

Nice. Watch out for the black lines in the eye. Hair isnt flowing enough, just lying there like a hat.

Ohh, I love sculpting, despite haveing done it so few times. It feels so much more natural than drawing and painting. I'd love to work with sculptures when the time comes for me to specialise in my education. ENOUGH ABOUT ME!!!

When I first got into sculpting, I searched for Super Sculpey. I found this guy: http://www.sculpey.com/scripts/distr...Subject=Norway
But I decided to try Fimo first (yes that is fimo I'm using) since they sell that at Panduro, and I've never felt the need for getting anything else. Now I don't know about sculpey, but the quality of fimo varies greatly with each pack. It's really important to squeeze the packs a bit in the shop so you find a soft one, but if you do, it's a lovely medium.
