This is a oil pastel painting that I'm working on for a Drawing II class. The painting that I'm painting is inspired by the artworks of Edward Hooper and Jeff Walts.

"Good for you, son. If there's one thing this world needs, it's more lawyers. Could you imagine a world without lawyers?," Lionel Hutz
I was going to make a crack about the guy being crippled until I thought with shame how he may just be so. His right hand is about as messed up as Anna Nicole Smith on acid and Ding-dongs.
I also think the cropping isn't very definitive. You've just barely framed the main subjects. It makes it seem contrived (but I do it all the time, so do as I say, not as I do). If you panned out a little (I think this subject would look better in landscape, vice portrait), you could really include the diner. If you zoomed in, you could make it more intimate.
Be careful on your perspective in the background. It looks different than the eye line implied by the figures.
