Ab-so-goddang-lutely incredible work, compadre. It's nice to see some sketches from you, now, what with all the finished digital work you have. Feeling the old style at times, which is nice, but you've evolved a hell of a lot. It's good to see, kick in the inspiration drive so to speak. Been inactive now, what with persnal downness, unfaithful girlfriend and stuff. But I'm back, I think, again.

Keep on rocking. Du äger totalt, gosse. SPLAT, om du minns.

I cannot get over how inspiring your work is. I have to get my work samples for school ready but this just makes me want to throw that aside and draw faces, and bodies and FAT!

Oh, and that portrait of me is gorgeous... I'm so not that pretty though! *chuckles and hugs tight*

I reeeally enjoy looking through your sketchbook and I'm really impressed with it all. Of your latest pieces i really love the sceneries you did most, with the huge trees/mountain-thingys shaped as odd swirly beings. The colours and the foggy depth of those pics are really moody and cozy wich I enjoy.

I also love seeing your quick sketches and studies, because they inspire me do start working hard on those areas myself.
I'll be coming back for more, you'll see.

Vallan1: Thanks mate! I guess I need to practive more proportion^^.
Chate Noire: Thank you! I´ve been working at trying to get better at enviros, glad you noticed =D
Brun: Thanks! I´m not sure if im tits though!
SoftOcean: Hiya! Thanks, I try! I think emotion and attitude are paramount, far more important than renderingtechnique. I think the first stage in i drawoing is the most difficult, and if I nail it, it´s probably going to be a decent picture.
    Sublimus: Thanks!
Yin: Hello buddy!Oh, thats "The Drawing Manual" by Glen Vilppu. He is my god. Gah, I used a soft edged to get the tonal transistions right! I suck =( . I didn´t even index the colours.... Thanks for the paintover!
Shadow of a mountain: Thanks, though I don´t think so myself.
Johan79:Thanks mate! I just hide away the good stuff ;P.
    Koppa: Thanks for the encouragement!
Chewster: My friend! Gald to see you around, sorry to hear about all that shit. I´m glad you´re doing better. When will I be seeing a skechbook from you?
PerinGalite Thanks a bunch buddy! I had no idea it did ^^ Ah, and there´s a strong connection between my avatar and your country, which rocks^^ I´ll tell you about it if you want to kow
Tess: *Hugs! Thanks you! Yeah, fat rocks! And you are far more stunning than you seem to think
Buck: Thanks Buddy! You´re rocking pretty hard yourself! Glad to hear you´re liking it! And now we´re friends 4 ever, seeing as how we started a CA sketchgroup and all =D.
DefiledVisions : Thank you! Gald you like em! I´m looking forward to seeing you again!
Enmi: Thanks! ^^ Yeah, environments are soooo cool! I can´t believe I´ve been neglecting them for so long.. Shame on me.. Cya!
    Tess: You made my day!
Chewster: That´s cool. Thank you buddy ^^.

Now finally, here´s some more. Mostly practice, trying to sketch quick and get better at describing form with tone. I´ll post some more tomorrow. BTW. Blade Runner is the most awsomest thing EVAH!

Slick! That steampunk feel you've got started is looking great. I love how minimal you're able to keep things when you want to. A lot of these face sketches with just the barest hint of features are gorgeous. The paintings have a great sense of smoothness, too, that I wish I could emulate.

Even that woman with the missing cheeks has a real slick look - Keep it up!

nice going man, I really enjoy the last piece a lot, great design and the simplicity is impressive ^^

I think that the face is slightly weaker though, mostly since I've seen you define shapes a lot better, and the mirror thing, dude don't do that ;p

I think that you have the same problem as me sometimes with the "feel" of the piece, they feel a little dead, that is not true for your pencils however, they are impressive.

The design is awesome as always though, I would kill for some of your creativity.

    Keep rocking man!

Dan Valkar: Thanks!! I love faces.
Coinpurse: Thanks^^. Oh, I generally use different derwent coloured pencils. When I can get my hands on em I love Col Erase. I like colour. It gets so dull with mere grey . If I want to render somethign silly I usually use a 0.5 mechanical pencil. I think the paper is more important. I tend to use a very fine grain paper without much texture. I´m using some kind of Daler Rowney paper at present. It´s sweet!
    Frogisis: Thank you! *blushes*
Buckster: Bah! You can´t project my own critisizm I gave to you on me! ;P That´s blasphemy! Seriously though, yeah, you´re right. I think it´s got to do with my lack of technique and security. I think when I draw with pencils, I can focus on the emotion and gesture, whereas in digital, I tend to focus on the technique aspect. I think I simply have to practice digital more, so that I can trust my subconscious to take care of the technique. Oh well, lots of practice ahead

    More filthy sketches!!

not filthy man, you are seriously one of the best pencil artists I have met, and that is not me kissing ass ^^

the last samuraj piece is amazing, great personality and volumes as always. Your line quality is great as well, I have learnt a lot from you and for that I am thankful.

They eyes far apart syndrome doesn't bother me, it is kind of integrated in your style ;p But I see your point.

Keep kicking some butt mate, cheers!

Wow, man...speaking of inspiration folders. Beautiful work. I'm going to be able to spend a good hour just looking at your work. Super expressive exaggerations...I'm really impressed with that. Looking over your whole sketchbook so far, your work has improved a ridiculous rate. It's cool how defined the changes are. Really nice work. I'll be watching your work. Thanks for inspiring!

    Whoa, excellent sketchbook Johannes!

You have a great range of skills all throughout, from pencil drawing to digital work, and now pixels!!!? I feel that your digital renderings stand out a little more than your drawings, you handle planes and surfaces very well. Lots of really smooth gradations.

Also, your pencil work is great, the characters you create have a very animated and expressive feel to them, I love it.

Of the few things I can find to point out, I'd suggest to keep working on your anatomy. It looks pretty good in most areas, but here and there I noticed a few things that were kinda off. Granted most of the stuff I'm referring to looked like practice sketches.

Another thing I might mention is that because of your animated style, you seem to simplify lots of areas on your characters. Perhaps a little more detail might help your characters more unique.

I also have to compliment your use of color, lots of good choices throughout your work.

One last thing- amazing progress since you started this thread!!!!! Truly inspiring

The recent drawing show significant style changing and improvement. The samurai one is my favorite. Yet those sweet pixel art are hot, too.

    Hello! ^^

Buckster- Thanks my friend, although I don´t deserve it. Well, it´s a problem if it´s not a concious decision. It could always come back and bite me in the ass someday if I´m not aware of it

    Sketcheth- Thank YOU! ;P

    Beonarri- Thanks, I think ^^

IdiotApathy- I´m so glad to be one of your mentees! *shivers with joy. Thank you for the encouragement!

Danomight- Thanks a bunch! You´re so right! I´ve actually been lacking with my anatomy studies lately. I just find them so boring . Gotta read more Vilppu ^^ Let´s kick some ass in the mentoringthread!

    Rawr- Thank you!

    UnSharpened- Thanks!

Dchan- Thanks muddy! How´s the job search coming along?

So I drew some enviros, the first two are about 30 mins each, and the last one about an hour.

it is great to see some more environments from you mate, I really enjoy the top one, great going. I love the colour you chose for the light ^^

the greyscale on has some nice depth to it but you should sharpen edges of the mountains so they don't look so blurred.

Keep at it mate, keep pushing the envos.
