Hey Omi-Kun, where's the mechs and girls?
Hey Omi-Kun, where's the mechs and girls?
ok here're some girls (really badly drawn, b/c I'm in deep need of some true understanding of anatomy)
after looking through fpg's stuff, I just felt totally compelled to do a bunch of rough sketches. It feels so liberating. Too bad they all totally sucked. It's going to take a long time before I reach his level, so bare with me as I go through my awkward growing phase
edit>> hmm didn't realize I had more sketches I didn't post before... they're anatomy studies, I'm trying to learn their curvatures...
and some misc azn girls and mech

yo omi-kun,
great updates! kickarse anatomy work.
regarding your question... i'm working for relatively unknown company that deals with electronic payment solutions. Spent a good 1-2 months last year flying around the world on support, implementations, and training. But it's quietened down for me sicne there are junior guys to handle my previous duties.
machzero: thanks for letting me know. I wonder, what were your technical areas? If they matched job description?
small update:

ok, one last thing before I quit for the day. Tomorrow's packing, getting the truck's oil changed, and... hanging out with friends before the long haul to Austin!
man this thing needs to be autoleveled.

lol lwhat's wrong with Austin? Actually my truck kinda broke, it's making some sort of squeling noise around the serpentine belt, one of the bearings is going out or something, so it might be a week before I actually get to go back to Austin (Austin has 1. friends, 2. ITG, 3. no cats at my place=no more allergies)

whats ITG? I'm from the northwest so austin is way too hot for me.

ITG stands for In The Groove, it's DDR made by people who got sick of DDR and wanted something challenging![]()

Some very cool energetic sketches. I like your colours and atmosphere!
Your figures could use some more anatomy studies, but it looks like youre working on that. Keep busting out the bots, just make sure to sharpen a couple more edges to get some interesting focal areas.
Pretty inspirational that you're doing all this while attending engineering school, I know how hard that is!
Nice brushstrokes, not much to crit because you seem to be practicing a lot of different stuff. Keep at it!

Thanks guys! Sorry for not replying but I didn't want to post anything I wasn't proud of. Well, I dunno. Anyway, I've been co-oping for HP for two months and I've had some time to warm back up. Below are some pieces for an art book for my art club in college. They're mainly for the club members and maybe whoever around campus that want them
Trying to diversify, but after the art book is done. I should be updating more from now on...

The standard mechanized infantry of the military. It's modular connection module located behind the cockpit allows numerous attachments from extendable grapplers, manipulators, all-terrain legs, jet packs, observation modules, radar/communication/ECM/ECCM, sonar/weapon, rescue beds, experimental weapons, multi-pylons for ordnance deployment (3x rocket launchers, laser/gps/infrared/AI guided missile launcher, 20-40mm gattling cannons, 1 80-120mm cannon with twenty external ammo pack). The two box like attachments at the head of the cockpit are evasion/defense mechanism such as smoke grenades and optical flares and anti-missile defense, which can be replaced with single rocket launcher/20mm cannons or zero-range manipulators (useful for the unlikely-but-climatic hand-to-hand combat). At the head of the cockpit is a defense mechanism (still in testing) that deflects 120mm shells with a high-intensity EMF.

Your drawings of mecha and women is so....sexy. I think I'll put a subscription on this thread. I like modeling hot mecha. Would you mind if I model anything I like that I see on this sb?
Well, it's not so much mecha, as it is your particular style of mecha. I just like them. They aren't the gundam style. They aren't the semi-biologically shaped ones (Like metal gears from mgs2 or mgs4). They're not overly blocky like battletech mecha (which are very old-school designs, seeing how far battletech dates back). They're just right. I dunno, maybe anatomically probable while eye-pleasing at the same time are the right words.
Also, I aspire to be a game artist while I am yet a Computer Science major. Yeah, our two majors have their differences, but I know how you feel. I think I do. Stuck in one place when you'd rather be somewhere else entirely.
