recursive end - The white outline is actually me trying egon schiele's style when he paints or draws on cardboard. He would use white gouache or something to outline the figure.
Smitherines, andy p, guggen - Thanks =)
BW- yea since I'm on break on, I'm gonna focus on the concept stuff....I'll take your advice about using the ref....I been thinking about using ref for a while now but usually I'm too lazy and I gotta learn how to use ref haha.
Here are some POS digital paintings....getting a little bit more comfortable with it but still got a LONG ways to go......I'm having trouble with picking colors and my drawing skill isn't there yet to paint what I want...oh well.

Really cool stuff Josh, your life drawings are very very impressive, excellent realism and proportions. That perspective study looks perdy aswell
Keep it up man, work on the digital stuff, youve got the skills its just getting used to working digitally.
Good stuff, Andy.
andyp - thanks =)
And my sad attempt at designing vehicles ahaha

Oh this sb is such a fuckin gem man. I know once you get the little kinks worked out..you are going to own so goddamned hard it's gonna hurt.
Just keep at it man.
The I.D. stuff...you can subdivide alot of those planes..so that it doesn't look so 'clean'.
Hye there, thanks for checking my sb.
This is looking good. You got some very clean lines in here. And the figure drawings are superb.
Only thing I'm missing is the imaginitive work. Ortherwise, thumbs up!
Hugs!
Helzon- Thanks man
Pencilator0- you will see a lot of stuff from my head in these next 3 weeks haha.
2 more speedies

Nice figure studies. I like them a lot.
Really solid stuff! Your contours, especially, are very strong and beautifully rendered.
Your weak point, as you know, seems to be your digital paintings. Your use of colour with traditional mediums are generally appealing, but something is lost in the colour of your digital pieces. Your digital stuff also looks a lot sloppier and unconfident. Of course, you know that, which is why you're doing more of them. So just keep doing what you're doing.![]()
hey, thanks for stopping by at my book. great figure drawings, real eye candy. the only thing that bugs me a little is that you seem to avoid feet... looking forward to see more of your stuff! cheers,
stine
No crits form me whatsoever,

2 more speedpaintings
afgal, bhanu - Thanks
Stine - Thanks man, I just realize I HAVE been avoiding the feet....never thought of it.....I gotta work on feets, not too good with it.
Ryn - Thanks for the crit...yes color is a problem for me...I think its because I don't have a reference to get the color from, at least for the paintings from my head....unlike in RL. About the sloppyness....I think I been looking at Craig Mullins too much, some of his paintings can be really messy but every mark he puts down makes sense. Of course, when I try to do it, mine looks like shit and his looks amazing haha.
Was digging through some stuff and found my anatomy/master copies sketchbook.
The rest are by John Singer Sargent....one of my favorite artist
Oil painting of an onion.....does it even look like one? heh

took around 2 and a half hours.....
this one's a little looser....kinda like that quality...not enough contrast maybe?

Very, very nice figure drawings, man! Yeah, maybe kick in some contrast in those speedies! Some highlights and stuff to make things pop. Good work - keep it up!
Fellah - Thanks for the comments....I'm a big fan of your sketchbook =)

wow... i love your figure drawing!!
really nice anatomy studies.
for the speed digital paintings, try hitting them with a mulitply layer for color glazes. this will allow you to easily push the darks darker and add some juicier color. if you don't like it, chuck it and start a new layer, no harm done!

Hey man, I havent dropped by in a while- all i can really say about your life drawings is what everyone else is already saying about them- they're awesome man. These paintings are looking pretty nice too. You should maybe try taking one a little further- i'd love to see the finished product!
Seth - Thanks I will try to do some paintings that are more finished.

Really sweet characters Josh. Would love to see this last one tightened up but it does have a really nice loose quality to it. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Helzon.....for this term I decided that I'm gonna get better at the traditional stuff before trying digital stuff....
