:inlove: i love the skeezik.. ..the design is really amazing. where did you get your inspiration? i cant think of awesome crazy sweet things like that. your self portraits are really coming along. .you seem to be getting more comfortable with them. also, do you have a job (in art)? if you dont.. .you should.. . .

im still in awe of the skeezik

My sketchbook is so nicely hidden. Thank you all so much for your curiosity in finding it and for your graciousness in posting comments. Crit is VERY welcome and encouraged. I did this one fairly quickly with REAL big brushes. My computer isnt very tough in the ram department.

who or what is pariah... i may never know myself.
In the meantime, i cooked up another SP that somehow lacks everything that i wish i could have been. I think i need to consentrate harder on the center of my forehead.

also finished the inkwork on a character piece from the new book.

my delay has been due to the rebuilding of my website. Check it out at
    trentkaniuga.com

im so fuzzy in love with my nothing forever.

    Thumbs up

Dude you rock hardcore, I really like the new site design. Very clean and to the point.

I really like the high contrast shadows on the new inks you've done.

Keep it up. I check this thread everyday. Truly inspiring stuff.

    Trent,

I really dig your site. One suggestion though; the rollovers on the buttons are being obscured by the mouse cursor. Maybe adjust them so that they are in a different position when you do the rollover.

I'm really diggin' that inking style... loads different from your past creed comics with lawter working on them.

So is this new book project a new creed series or a completely different story? Just wondering because I don't see mark... unless that cool guy with the staff is suppose to be him, but he has five fingers.

Talking Happy to see your still going at it...

Good morning Mr.K, I bet you dont remember me, i made a creed webpage along time ago and we talked through email for a while. I have been a huge fan of your artwork since I first saw an article about you in combo magazine, I was very excited to finaly find your webpage, and this wonderful daily sketch book, Its hard to find creed fans online because every web search for creed brings up pictures of that stupid band...

anyway, I've noticed that your artwork has improved as well as diversified, and I eagerly await more of your published work, do you have any plans for a new creed series??

your artwork has inspired me and I hope you do whatever it takes to become a great artist, I belive that you have a great talent and one day you could be just as big a Todd Mcfarline, not to say that youd want to be, but I just thought you should know that you do have fans out there who really belive in you, and yes it does soud cheezy, but it is true.

    best wishes -soup

    p.s
whenever I show creed comics to my friends, they insist that it was you who did the artwork for koRns: follow the leader cd,
    is this true??

    =====================
If i thought it'd make you love me, i'd eat soup on a stick.

So many responses, and Ive been so... distant. Thank you all for your warm and encouraging remarks. About a week ago... I lost someone that I held to be very important. Its been difficult dealing with this loss, but its pushed me to take a few freelance jobs on the side. Unfortunately, none of the things I am doing can be posted or published until they are released publicly by my clients.
Needless to say, Ive been feeling very...drained.

sorry to hear about your loss, man. this last self portrait has a lot of energy to it... .its almost as if the mood is jumping right off the page. the rapid pen-looking strokes really add a lot to the piece. the colors could be taken a bit further, but i think this is one of your best s.p.'s yet. keep it up

    Hard times...

I'm very sorry, Trent. I myself lost my wife to cancer on October 28 of 2002.
At this moment I'm trying to get back on my feet again, and back to the drawing board.
I made her a site in order to deal with the pain.

Keep it up buddy! I wish you the best...

failure is a part of being human.

To capture the spirit of awakening, or at least try... the opening of the minds eye. In order to master an art, much like anything, it seems you must first learn to distance yourself from it, and allow it to flow smoothly as if in a lucid dream state.
Applying reason upon reason upon technique upon excecution, only after these things naturally are released can it feel true to its form.

I have a long way to go.

Back in the saddle, and feelin good! I really wanted to draw some mech designs. This is the first real robot ive drawn since I was a kid drawing transformers n whatnot. Hmm... maybe a transformers piece would be fun.
anyway, the plan is to do this in watercolor and acrylic on board. Im reluctant to work on board because you cant just try a bunch of stuff until it works out like you can digitally. So ill probably do some color mockups in painter 8 before i actually start applying colors.
Non digital painting is a fear Ive got... this is as good of a time as any to confront that fear. Im still working out the pencils and things will probably move around a lot at this stage. But i thought it would be neat to show the process.

Hey, Trent! I've emailed you a couple of times with general questions. Bet you're tired of me! I'm a huge fan of your works, and was just wondering a couple of things. is this new book you're showing art for Creed related? Just wondering because of your mention of the Skeezik's and the merging of the two worlds. I'm assuming you mean the dream world and the real world. Your last Creed mini left me wanting more! Keep up the good work, I'll always be a fan!

    FanBoy Postee

hey! i was thrilled to see you posting here. i picked up a few issues of Creed back in 97 i think... either 97 or 99, i can't remember. but what i do remember was how your drawings blew my puny mind! if i were to list my top ten influences, you would be right there! wow, i still kinda woozy. haha, before i really start sounding like a groupie, i just want to say that it's a joy to see you on these boards. i love your work.
