Really, really, great stuff. I liked your website too. I see you worked for Harcourt, my son did a bunch of freelance for them as well. Keep up the good work.

Nice site update. I got a kick viewing the Snow White (Mercedes Benz/Saatchi & Saatchi) AD.

While I do enjoy your painting style, I've noticed that all your compositions rely on the subject being centered. As for the first thing you posted, it wasn't centered, but the area that you displayed wasn't needed which also affected the dramatic effect of the scene.

I hope there's some advice in there, I'm new.

I rarely login here, that's why I was surprised when I saw your comment in my Mai Shiranui practice.

And now, I'm even more pleasantly surprised to discover your artwork. It is amazing the attention to detail, your precision at face depiction...

    Kudos, Tristan Elwell.

I love your work! I went to your website and I love your art style. You have a unique and classic style that I'm very fond of.
All (or most of them) are traditional art, painting not digital? This is amazing!

Wow! Awesome, incredible, amazing and crazy...

Do you think traditional paintings are easier to make than digital ones for you? At least they're difficult to modify I think. So you always finished them at a heat?

Red face Great Stuff & A Thought

Please note that I am not an illustrator but am familiar enough with the criteria of that genre to write that you're work is, "Excellent" !!!
Personally, I am drawn to, the more, [very] obscure, risk-taking elements [breaking-the rules] but, of course, seeing beautiful-"Drawing" is always wonderful.
Even though ,It's been already written & noted, on your talent, draftsmanship, & feeling for your equine subjects; I must reiterate that sentiment. I'm serious! You, Really Do KNOW- These Animals & your work, so portrays & shines in this particular strength. Your "Horses", seem to almost, want to "break-free" from their picture plane; esp. the steed [flying] out from the flames-Wow!, that particular piece invoked, the theme of The Mythical bird, "The Phoenix, only, it was, A Horse & not a Bird... *grins*-duhhhh,*lol!
In an odd way, it was my personal feeling that the human characters, [The Riders] seemed to, almost "anchor" these enchanted steeds-back down, onto picture plan.
    A Thought:
A close friend of mine, makes, $ome excellent ca$h as she focuses in, on painting-Horses, Exclusively. There seems to be, a thriving & healthy market for that specialization, [esp. down in the Southern region of The USA & CA]. This is where all the serious, "Top Drawer" Breeders & Horse Folks maintain [winter] "Stables" for their Racing or Show Animals. She would kill me, but your "Horses" are, much better than hers... &, better for you, you can even do- [People] The Owners/Riders, ect , she could, not "do people"-[ she didn't like them very much, lol!] I don't know if you've ever "Marketed your Talents in that specific arena[no pun intended-but, if you ever did; I think your efforts would be extremely, well financially rewarded
I stopped fighting my inner demons; we're on the same side now...
