Ok here is my entry. I was originally going to do something else but I realized I wouldn't finish it in time so I did this one. I hope you like him.
Looking forward to seeing everybody elses (or at least someone elses) entry.
Have faith, these things should never be easy.

I've got a little bit of free time on my birthday today... so I'll see if I can wrap up the one I started...
lol im just starting mine now.
Did you ever find judges for this, Kresh?
I always thought it was going to be a poll...
If it is a poll, make it a public poll its always cool to see who is voting on these things.
Sorry, guys... It's my B-Day and I'm freakin' goin' out tonight. lol I could of worked on this more during the day tomorrow and scanned in the evening but I'll be at work and out again tomorrow night so I have to put it up now or never. Oh well. It's pretty rushed but at least I didn't back out! I have a few pages of conceptual development sketches. Could have done a lot better but this will have to suffice. Perhaps I'll reuse the character and do a new illusration in him. I've got a soft spot for for fattys... takes one to know one. lol Welp, here he is. Sorry again. Hope you like it a bit and I'm sorry I wasn't able to give it my all. I promise better results when I'm not under so much stress and restrictions. Can't wait to see the GOOD stuff from you guys! The stuff that's already been posted is pretty nice... but I know the best has yet to come...

Happy b-day bitch, er... I mean Zebzfree. Have a drink on me. By 'on me' I mean you pay for it and do a body shot out of my hairy navel. Great entry so far as well.
Like, Ilaekae, I hope the deadline is late tomorrow.
putting up my WIP.... will finish by the deadline (I'm assuming...)
Here will have to be my "finished" piece...
Here's the concept:
After “The Incident” Humanity decided enough was enough and put sanctions in place to stop all AI research and development. (see “United States of America vs. A.L.I.C.E-bot Mk 3”, cf. 1371.71.04-07)
This led to the current, controversial method of “brain cleansing”. That is taking a convicted felon from Death Row, performing brain sugery that removes the lobes of the brain that relate to personal memory and knowledge of self. All that the brain retains is its reactive and problem-solving capabilities. The cleansed biped (using the term “human” or “person” is frowned upon) is then grafted to robotics and other machinery as befits the use for it.
The prime protestors against this practice is the group calling itself the “Dark City Liberators”. They claim that the “Self” is not contained within the brain, but rather in the theoretical construct of the “Soul”. They claim that the brain cleansing and the pitiful semi-life that the cleansed biped is entitled to a horrific torture and will attempt to relieve the bipeds from their miserable semi-existence.
It is interesting to note that while no studies have found any evidence supporting the Dark City Liberators’ (DCL’s) claims, all of the researchers add variations on the fact that “…the heart-wrenching sadness that emanates from the bipeds, and the accusation in their eyes, are hard to rationalize…”![]()

You made it ZebZ! Glad you made it and happy birthday. I'm not posting mine until tommarow bitches! Hopefully my scanner will stop being a piece of shit (grabs hammer and grins) but I've got a couple ideas how to fix that. I may have to just take a pic with my camera but that's the last resort.
Btw Black Adams background in his pic is digital. Can we do that!?

Ya tommorow late, like 12 midnight lol
hahah I started mine the day you started this contest man. Although that still isn't saying much....

Here is mine. "Badger" was finished with a good mix of media...pencil, ink, marker, and colored pencil. I had a lot of fun, machines aren't my cup of tea so it was a good challenge just on the subject matter. Hope you all get things tied up tonight...I'll be keepin' my eyes peeled to see what you've got!
here is my guy. ballpoint pen on 11x14 vellum.
some killer looking guys so far.

I have good news and I have bad news...
My illustration is done. That's the good news...
The bad news is I'm officially out of the contest because I won't be able to post it until tomorrow afternoon--my scanner bulb just blew and I can't replace it until tomorrow after 5pm. If my wife can't find a bulb locally, she's going to borrow a digital camera for me so I can upload a snapshot. Either wa, I can't make the deadline tonight.
AAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...

Romance, that's just kick ass man! Beautiful, subtle pencil rendering! I'm sold on it, mate. The only crit I'd have is to up the contrast in a few areas to give us more focal points and to make areas pop but other than that, it looks awesome, bro! Can't wait to get my sketch on with you in Montreal! We'll have to collab! And sorry I didn't provide you with any decent competition. Maybe the other guys will represent better than I did. Love the work, man. Very lively.
Wasn't the deadline yesterday? When is the poll starting?

I don't think we need a poll to decide who wins this... lol
I agree with Zebz. Romance hands down. After all that smack talking no one showed!
