Studies on a randome sketch of a creature which I doodled, about time I make some hard effort to spruce up my lighting. I have a typical bad habit to drift into bland softly lit non dramatic lighting situations, rather like a child.

Maybe that's insulting to children? If so I apologise.

So 2009, the year of back to basics for me. Too much noodling not enough basics in 2008/ My excuse is that I was very busy with the tail end of a long project at work which left me rather burned out much of the time. Let's see if I can make 2009 less draining and full of steaming helpings of lovely progress!

I'm sorry to hear about your cat.

I think of my own animals as family, so I can imagine how it must feel to loose one.

Awesome weapon sprue man! I like the design, even though an orthographic view is often more presentable. The doodles are also fun to look at^^

One of my newyear things was to be more regular! I shall strive to resume progress - I feel stagnant at the moment.

branching out into human environments more, good to see. there is a bit of samey tonal value in some of the recent work. not a bad thing though but maybe try out some scenes with stronger light sources to play around with? now to take my own medicine heh.

some doodles, came out mostly aquatic or insect as usual. still not liking to draw faces so i forced a couple out. needs more work but its so sunny outside!
