Cool piece, the wrist's are a little thin, and the leg seems a bit short. Kinda weird seeing Batman in a very bright environment.
very nice. love the colors.
i agree though with lone wolf that the wrist on the arm above his head looks a little thin and the hand a bit small too.
with the bulk of his body his head looks a little small as well.
nice work!
the hand/head size doesn't bother me at all - in fact, it's my favorite part, and I think your exaggeration choices (if that's what they are) are excellent. Don't think the cape needs that red outline on the bottom, tho.
Nice piece - but what's he doing? Throwing something?

Very nice. Crazy colors, I like it.

as Geuseppe said, he looks like hes trowing something. maybe it looks better if he holds the bat boomerang in the hand. it takes a while to get used to. perhaps hes parrying a incoming punch or loading up a karate chop with a loud Kploww-chop.
but a nice painting. really like the background. thought first the city was on fire there but it was your style of lights.
Very cool piece. I really dig the midsection of the peice, every thing really comes together nicely there. Very cool.
Very nice piece, well done. The only two small critisms I would have is that (as mentioned before) the wrist on the right hand seems a bit strange. The other is that the torso may be a tiny bit too big, even though I do appreciate the exageration you've given him. Nice work![]()
I’m digging it. As far as the issues stated concerning his wrists and torso, it would seem to me that the influence leading to your version of the character was some what based on the animation version of batman. If so the foreshortening is done well in my opinion. Also the uses of the strong warm tones verses the extremely cool tones are working vary well for me. The only crit I have for you would be to drop the rim light at the bottom of his cape and also tone down the high light areas on the folds, its leading my eye to that area a little to much, when the focus should be more on the figure it self. Keep it up!

i agree with geuseppe- the exageration of the wrist/head size is really making this piece interesting.
the style of the painterly technique with the cartoonish sensibility just looks really fresh. good work.
Hi Guys,
Thanks for looking - and for commenting
I deliberatly pushed the exaggeration - I approached the peice very loosely, and to be honest, the wrist and tiny head are two of my fav. parts! 'Evidence' hit it right on the head actually, I wanted to try and blend cartoony-ish proportions with a painterly style...I haven't seen it done too much, and thought it would be an exciting direction to push myself in.
I now see the issue with the cape bottom - so I will get in there and tone the rimlight down substantially - thanks!

This piece reminds me of the Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu video game. I think it has to do with the style and also the colors (especially the warm tones.)
Anyways, I like the piece. My only concern was with the placement of his feet/legs underneath his cape. His right leg seems more off then his left, but it really isn't "that" big of an issue.
Good work and I look forward to seeing other new pieces.
God Bless,
Jeremy
p.s. Did I mention I'm a huge Batman fan too!
I love it too. I think the stylistic choices of small head and hands really works. I love seeing the painterly style/animated style hybrid too.
The world is full of big headed, small bodied superflat rehashes. This is a refreshing sight and I welcome it any time I see it.
To me, his right leg looks really...odd. It seems really short, rather than foreshortened. Other than that, it's cool looking.
Nice colors, purple/orange. I can't visually get past the huge deltoid. I want to get into him more, peek into his eyes, maybe see who he really is, but the roundness of the shoulder muscle shape keeps tossing me away. Covering over 1/2 of that muscle (as big as an ass cheek) with his cape would really help.
