Hey there, welcome to CA.
You've got a nice start on the cat there. Two things I think would make it better:
1.) Give it some more definition around the mouth area. At the moment its a bit dark to see what is going on.
2.) Cat's whiskers are really fine. The whiskers in the picture are much to thick to be realistic, maybe try to thin them out a bit.
Help me improve...please! :: Tazzy's Sketchbook
So I've got this drawing going, and I'm starting to think about coloring it... and I need your help and criticism. Crit away, please!!

Get the anatomy studies ROLLING DUDE. STUDIES ARE THE KEY. Study from life.
Read books. Lots of books.
Will edit this post. In the future. But for now: Draw as much as time allows,
Read good books like Loomis' books everyone's talking about here. Don't waste valuable time.
PS: Dont be too anxious about getting replies to your work.. If you really need the personal critics, go to the Critic Section and post your best piece.
But try to fix everything that looks off to you. Try to learn as much as you can while living.

Heres a couple of my latest sketches. I'm trying to get some momentum and commit to updating this SB... critique is much appreciated
One more for the road?
I've been playing with Gouache quite a bit, trying to work with the figure.
Some pictures of life drawing will be up tonight, hopefully!
The face is based semi-solely off of Tristan Elwell's picture, here and a sculpted bust found on Corbis to change it a bit... though there isn't much difference.
Crits appreciated!
I would suggest getting some in some basic shapes studies in the human body structure. Do you portrait studies and try to knock down the proportion, size, length when sketcjing it out. Use a ruler if you have to. Then step back every so often and see if every thing is matching.
Good Luck and keep up thework!
Life drawing from today!
Drawing from class today!
Only about an hour...
has anyone else taken a 3.5 hour long class and take 1.5 hours worth of breaks (total)?
