Upgrade tablet to a Wacom ?

I have been using photoshop for digital photographs for 4 years. In that time I have been using an A4 Nisis tablet which was fine. I stumbled across this site about a month ago and have been totally inspired to start drawing/painting again... haven't done this for some 20 years (since school etc)

So I've started sketching in Photoshop and Painter and am struggling with putting faint lines down and generally controlling the pen accuratley (fine for cloning in PS but is not working for me whilst trying to draw

    So do I spend £200 on a A5 Intus 3 Wacom tablet ?
Is it a massive improvement on my old Nisis ?
Should I stick with the Nisis tablet and keep practicing ?

    Thanks very much

Get a Wacom, they are the only tablets that should exist on this world, i have an intuos 3 9x12 and it's freaking awesome, really responsive, the sensitivity is top notch even the faintest lines show up and the express keys are really handy and you get loads of kewl pen nibs

    Cheers, Tyler

Dear god yes, seconded. I love my Intuos3 9x12 so much I couldn't bear to get a cheaper, smaller one to lug around with my laptop. I don't mind the extra space and weight; I forget about all that the moment the pen hits the tablet.

Definitely worth the upgrade from anything you've currently got.

Stuipd question, though: does anybody know if an Intuos4 is in the works? There's no way I'm upgrading so soon after getting mine, but I'm curious as to just how they could possibly improve on the Intuos3, the thing's damn near perfect.
