    Daniel Frey Concept Art

    Greetings,

My name is Daniel Frey, illustrator, posting some of the recent concept work I'm doing for a new game company Voodoo Studio. These images can be seen at www.conflictomega.com also. On a personal note, I'm moving to Los Angeles in June and will be looking for work...now and then. So these images will be part of just one of they types of portfolios I will be sending out and presenting.

You can also see more work at:

These look great! The last one seems to bother me visually just a bit...can't say why, though...

I like the third one with the funky bug, and last one with those weird colours. It reminds me of those oil puddles you find in areas with cars that have rainbow swirls...

The second one's perspective seems off, the most noticable is the building to the left.

The fourth one's "tubes" are very bright, if the edges were softer it would look better. Also there should be plenty of bounce light everywhere in that one.

Last two are my favourites, nice and loose.
    Great work!

    Greetings,

DFrey saying thanks for all of the input. Most of us work in a corner alone and hearing the perspective others is helpful.

    Thanks,

Hey, very nice stuff you posted, you have the rendering skills!
I know you posted this in FF, but Illl give you some c&c, hope you dont get offended!

What seems a bit lacking in all of them is compostion. My eye doesnt know where to rest. There are no real points to lay down my eye, too much competeing. Whats off fx in the last one is the fact that the road is too high up in the pic, taking up alot of space, whilst the intended focal point is the burning city. My brain cant decide, which is more dominant, so he jumps about, making it difficult to watch the image. Hope this helps

Love you environments. Top noch. I think the second one needs some butn marks on the freeway around the car. It looks like there would be more damage from the car wreck.

    Greetings,

Thank you for the input, I take all critiques as valid observations and will apply them.
