PS brush similar to Painter's Scratchboard rake

I'm looking for a Photoshop brush that replicates the Scratchboard rake (several parallel lines that taper individually according to pen pressure) in Painter IX. I've tried to make my own but I can't get the same feeling. However, I know you can achieve this because I've seen PS illos with that kinda hatchy lines.

    Thanks in advance

I'd need to see some screenshots of this Painter brush in action. Keep in mind that the brush won't blend like in Painter, but you can create a reasonably close replica of everything else.

The rake brush in action (actually a PS replica, as stated by the illustrator himself):http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...=prince+persia

An excerpt from that thread with the kind of brush strokes I'm looking for:

I'll post some examples of the "real" painter brush as soon as I can.

Something like this? I looked into painter for the rake tool but could not find it, I don't know in what ''medium'' it is. But according to you image this is what I end up with.... Not sure if this is what you mean.

I was going to suggest that what you do, is Create one "Dab" of the brush in painter, export the image file, then go into photoshop and select it and tell it to "Capture brush" you may get what you want.

hi, this is a custom brush i created a while back....its a sorta texture comb usefull for lots of things i find..these examples of strokes arent very good because im using my builtin laptop touchpad to do them so with wacom they are mre effective strokes.

and this is the more plain brush which i made my own of because there was something dodgy about the default PS version

Which settings did you use life on the sofa? When I curve my stroke, the spacing in my brush starts to widen, and the individual dots of the brush preset start appearing all of a sudden.

in the faux finish brushes 3 and 4 from the bottom there are a couple that if you set the angle jitter to direction, in the shape dynamics options you'll get a fairly similar finish. Hope that helps.

Heh, turns out I already have one of these in my selection of brushes. Takes a bit of getting used to. Not sure how I would go about getting the brush to anybody who needs it, though.

Here's the brush. Practically identical to the painter one except i've set it to change width with your pen pressure (i may change it). do with it as you will...in fact anyone lol.
