For some reason Casey Abrams, who I think is a phenomenal talent, has me thinking about three other super talents who we lost wayyyyy too soon, Kevin Gilbert, Jeff Buckley, and Freddie Mercury. (yes, it is too soon to make these kinds of comparisons, and so what?)

Most people know Buckley and Mercury, but Gilbert is less known, but left us some unique gifts...

I'm on a sixties pop binge. One of my favourites, River Deep - Mountain High. Ike and Tina Turner with the whole Phil Spector wall of sound thing going on.

The actual videos up for it aren't too great, but it's set to this nice montage of archive footage here. Captures the period in an unsettling way. From the Adam Curtis film 'It Felt Like A Kiss'.
