Thanks all
Heres some doodles from scraps of paper or sketchbook, and a lithography print i did of some mugs. The bee painting is gouache and was quite small.
The one with the cut out smile and the 2 rabbits were for a brief for uni, to answer 2 sort of sayings we were given each, mine were ' happiness is not just the absence of unhappiness', and the other was ' listen for the creak of the bow, not just the rush of the arrows'.
Thanks for stopping by!

Loving that horse image, really nice Fran.
hey lefran i love ur sketchbook ur style is very cool. My favorite on this page is the leopard horse pic on #935. I dig the mood in that one
I love the latest post! Beautiful work.
I like the one of Rose, but I have to say I've never seen her covered in snails so it's hardly accurate is it. IS IT FRAN.

I'm really enjoying your creative spirit and all the things you're doing with paper. Very refreshing!
thanks all
she clearly IS covered with multicoloured snails, and theyre pretty awesome
We had a project to do an abstract book, 12 images from a poem or short story, using simple shapes, colour etc to convey characters, and actions from the story etc, also as an exercise in composition.
I chose mine about a tiger being mistreated at a zoo, ive done 6 so far.

The abstract shape images are delicious! first one is my fav![]()

Some more stuff>>
The one with the lady in the fur coat and the shelves with phones, are both mock editorials, the one is for an article about wearing fur, and the other about this woman than hates new type phones. Im undecided about which kind of style to push with that one, i started a more realistic sort of phone shape, or whether i should just do more with the red line doodles i used as a sort of guide?
Bits and bobs
Little ink doodle, Quick stylised portraits of friends,
Horse toy i've been working on, the card will be replaced with acrylic (theres a viideo of it here http://lefranart.blogspot.com ), more work on my dragon image, and a mural for my first ever comission![]()

The mural is awesome, really love the charatcer's expression! The balanced compostion is nice, are you planning on developing individual elements into each side, or are you going to keep it perfectly symmetrical?

"laws that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

thankyou all
BWT- no that was the final sign off on the mural, it was for a comission, and the client was happy with it.
Heres a popup sandwich and the abstract book project
itll be joined together as one image in a consertina, just easier to show split
I love the ink doodle. And wow at the concertina, totally amazed (and jealous) at how many skills you have!

Arrr almost everything you illustrate has some sort of brown paper texture, I'd like to see you draw some portraits of the elderly using your paper textures in their skin.![]()
Nice creativity in here! Good to see so many different ideas being used in what media to use and how they are handled. Especially like the hand made stuff!

If there is a sin against life, it consists perhaps not so much in despairing of life as in hoping for another life and in eluding the implacable grandeur of this life.
