    Well hello.

You have pretty good handling on pencil, they all look pretty alright. There´s some kinda cartoonish touch you have which is not all bad but if you aim to get closer to realism, you have to pay attention to some issues. The area of nose and eyes is often too cartoonish, too much "explaining" going on there, in a lack of a better word.

Heavy outlines on the nose and eyes are the biggest factor which makes it look like it but you also seem to have a tendency to draw the eyes quite big. And a BIT too high up on the face sometimes too. At least it looks like it a bit. Also the noses are often really flat, they don´t jump up from the face and that makes the whole face look flat. For example in the third picture (with the wineglass) the nose is running straight down from the point where it meets eyebrows. And then the mouth is lined up with the nosetip basically - therefor the whole structure of the face is a bit wonky. Cartoonish it makes it look.

All and all I think you have quite a good control over values, the dark areas are totally the darkest and you can dreate forms quite nicely with midtones. And your pencilwork is really pleasing to look at. Now all you need is to watch yourself not to add too much outlines (especially the eyes and noseline - try to avoid) and you are off to a totally different kind of rendering! Especially if you can also correct the minor anatomical issues...

Good luck there!!! (and don´t mind me too much, I run around here and give my opinions which are totally just my point of view. Maybe there´s a hint of truth in there too but basically my mission is to find something to criticise, to help others see their issues... )

Thanks for stopping by my SB... you have some tight rendering here!

I really like the graphic elements you bring to the sketches.... just watch those proportions in the face...

    some tight pencilworks in here!
be mindful of the size of the noses though, the distance between the eyelevel and the nostrils seems too big at times

Nice work, the shadings are great, and maybe that u could work more on the portraits. They look nice but they don't look quite real ( i know, it's hard job...i have problems too).

    Real nice stuff. Dig it.
Am I getting it right, that you're OrozcO's little brother? Your stiles look real similar. Any more talent in the family?
Some of your compositions look too random though and have little to do with each other. You've been concentrating on faces too much too I'd say.
    Quite impressive stuff nevertheless.
You gonna do something in colour too?

In your first batch, the eyes were very large but it looks like you fixed that problem in the newer sketches. I think some of the drawings could benefit with some softer edge work. Looks like you have a nice cross hatching technique. Keep up the good work.

very neat sketches indeed. The rendering is starting to get real tight, but some head features are a bit off here and there. You often tend to put the eyes a bit to far upstairs on the head. Just a thought tho .
But these are all incredible drawings, keep inspiring us.

Wow, your rendering skillz are top notch man, have some stars. You ability to capture likeness is awesome too. I'm really likin everything I'm seein here. I'd like to see some more stuff that is a bit more illustrative, I mean stuff that tells a bit of a story or tells us somethin about the character. These portraits are awesome, make 'em say something. Stuff liek the Garden state pic or the Clash cover.
    Really killer stuff here.

    Great update

The studies look real good. As always clean rendering and sharp edges. Your images still look somewhat flat. Try to study form and shape without gettin so caught up in the perfect hatching. Study structure and what's underneath that structure holding it up. That way you can show the roundness of the faces and heads a lil bit better.

The self-portraits are looking really good. The eyes are still a little funky in the sense that theyre not aligned with the tilt of the head or their too small or too far apart. But you can fix this by doing some structure studies. make them really rough and fast. do alot of them. this will give you the experience to match up your rendering skills.

The painting is looking pretty slick. The copper-coated pottery looks very real. You definitely can see the different textures in the objects. The drappery might need a little better careful-seeing. And you still need to work on those elipses. Practice drawing hundreds of them by hand at first. Then you'll paint them with ease. Very pleasing colorscheme. Maybe a bit more red and yellow to balance out the reds and purples. Also remember that the true complement of yellow is bluish purple. Something most teachers don't really cover. Good composition. Wish I could see a better quality pic to appreciate the brushstroke.

Oh really good sketches, it's nice to see some more traditional things on this forum. Loved the last selfportratit, and it's good to see that you know different styles, cubism etc. Keep 'em coming!

In a way I'm surprised that you don't get more feedback here, In a way I'm not.
I think you're doing great here, experimenting with lots of styles and different media and some of this stuff is absolutely stellar! Superduperneat execution. I'd even wear half of 'em as t-shirts.

The reason I think there's not much feedback is that it just feels more like a finished artbook (with a sketch-y style) than a sketchbook. Judging only from what you post here, you don't seem to pursue anything specific, don't seem to be working towards a specific goal like someone who would want to depict, say, a shiny-armor-knight slaying a dragon in front of a burning village (e.g. getting down the anatomy of a certain body part, trying out different takes on a design idea, going through all those tedious processes of thumbnailing, sketching, detailling ...). Which is perfectly fine. I don't say you don't study things thoroughly, you clearly have a good understanding of facial anatomy, shading, colors etc already.
Nah, I just enjoy this in a different way than most sketchbooks, where I see someone's process and progress and can thus comment more specifically, give hints and criticism or learn stuff for myself. Whereas here I'm just very pleased to see a variety of more or less finished styles and designs and can't really say much besides that... Or apparently I can.

Long story short: some very cool pop-cultural stuff, keep it up, I'll check back. The Agent Orange or forest fire depiction with that helicopter and Cub-ified Rembrandt are my favs.

PS: please don't paint knights slaying dragons. Unless maybe if the armor was really, really shiny and the village was really, really burning. Moreso than usual.
