    5 stars for Evangeline Lilly!

I guess your other stuff is alright too

Keep pushing those rendering techniques! You're so close to photorealism!

Beautiful man - just beautiful. That last one does look like a photo - how long did you work on that? Thanks for posting the "characterdesigns.com" plug - I checked it out and it's awesome. Some really fun poses and models.
Amazing work! Keep it up and keep em coming!

Drawing from photos is easy for me everything is done all ready. All i have to do is copy. The Evangeline Lilly pic took around 3 hours at a guess i did in between other pics.

Here is more copied faces, from a photo posted in the usual faces tread. I was beginning to think i could not learn much from pure ref pics but i think i might be wrong. These pics have been very instructive to me.

The second pic original looks goofy, but i managed to make her look odd. Oh well these are about a hour each.

i have another 50 of these to do.

you could not learn much from pure ref pics if u dont apply what you gained from painting from those refs, apply what you have learned and you dont have much to worry about.

LOL!! Yeah. Lucky you havn't moved over the nude study phase yet. Nice eyecandy.

Erm, I mean, yes you still need alot of work in that area, you need to do atleast 50 more nude studies and post them daily. Hehe!!

Thanks Arthur 'Two Sheds'. I use the Granite Flow for texture, a default brush in Photoshop.

    Thanks polydrawer.

Thanks pijus. I plan to do a lot more from ref.

    Thanks bharat.

    Thanks Verehin.

Thanks zaorr. I think i will have to do plenty more nude studies.

Been hitting a bad spot recently, art wise, just happens from time to time. Nothing good to show. Except for the reffed heads which are ok.

    Unfinished Winter dragon DSG.

Yaga Baba for CHOW unfinished as well. Messed the colours up.

And more reffed faces which are ok.

From ref. Back and white with colour added in colour layer. I wanted to try it out.

Same thing here i wanted to add colour afterwards but i got too bored with this pic. Anyway after the above one i don't think i really like painting this way. Not as much fun as jumping straight in with the colour. I might go back to this and redo his face.

Your digitals are nearly impeccable. I really think that that is your forte. Colours and values seem to come easily to you, for which I envy you of course, but thats another story...

Ya I don't think I like the gray scale to color via color layer. The colors never seem as "alive" as they should. The gray takes too much from it, but the values seem pretty accurate.

I like the soft grainy effect you got on the orcs skin. Works really well. Keep em coming

I like your style! I see big improvements from 1st page to last. Keep them coming!
For me, drawing/painting is like Tai-Chi. Sketching is like practicing forms, so that it is committed to muscle memory. It is then we can react to stimuli, and know what to do because we feel it.
