Red face Some quickies.... some crits would be appreciated

Here are some of my recent sketches... I'd be grateful if you'll point out my anatomy mistakes. You may point out other mistakes and give me some advice, but I know I have serious anatomy problems

This one drawn from pictures of my own arm and hand (the hand and forearm above drawn from photo, the rest are from imagination)

This one is a portrait I drawn from the Taxi movie:

... and these two drawn from imagination

Sorry about the marks that you may see in the backgroung of some images. It's because of the thin paper i've drawn on...

Cant say much, there just "quickies", looking at the first and the third one.
About the anatomy, you have to study more, keep in mind the muscle that are under. Dont draw as if you were blind.
But overall, your lines seems good. you just need more practice.

I agree, study anatomy. You are going in the right direction by doing these studies, I certainly didn't do anything like that at your age (assuming your profile is correct). Keep doing the studies, just try to focus on anatomy a little more, there are plenty of books and websites that can help by giving you some good references.

Seems like you're going one step forward, two steps back. After you lay down the basic lines for posture, I see you go straight to trying to flesh out the shapes. Which is fine, but you'll need a proper understanding of anatomy first. Like Brownie said, anatomy books are very helpful.

you really need to take a little more time with these, add more details, especially with faces, faces in my opinion, are the most important part of a people drawing.

also, use yourself as a model, it's very helpful, maybe you have a digital camera, take pictures of yourself is different poses and try to copy them, perhaps wear a bathing suit so you can get a better feel for anatomy, and once you've done that, start wearing thicker cloths and learn how things like silk and cotton different in shape and how they flow.

    Thanks for the replies ppl

Bad Brownie: What were you doing at my age?

MrBobMarley: Hmmm....that's how my art teacher tought us in the 8th grade. He tought us the 8 head proportions and he said we should draw some ovals on the line skeleton and some ovals for the ribcage and pelvis also. This were supposed to mimic the shape of the muscles. If we wanted to draw people in clothes he said we should draw some rectangles which would be close to the clothes shape. We haven't studied anatomy very much. Just some basics at biology classes in 7th grade. Now, I'm in the 9th grade, the first highschool grade in my country and we don't take classes with the same teacher (his daughter is our teacher now it's just a coincidence) and the actual teacher told me that we will do only theory classes in the next three grades(history of art blah blah ). So... I have two books for human anatomy but they are written in italian :'Le Basi del Disegno' volumes (2) and (3) (http://www.vinciana.com/it/02_basi.htm and http://www.vinciana.com/it/03_basi.htm). They just seen a little to difficult and technical (the images, I mean)

beyond_the_forest: I did this ('stoph told this too: http://69.16.210.25/forums/showthread.php?t=56720)... the hand holding the sword it's mine, drawn from a photo...

Edit: Oooh, i forgot, and this is what I made last night :

...i think i've drawn the head narrower ...

About the last one: it helps to get the basic forms right first. So first draw a circle/oval for the head, so it will have the same ratio*. Nice try though.

    * - i should listen to my own advice sometimes

Thanks for the quick replies. I've done that with the oval for the head, but i think i've messed it up because of the angle i was lookin' at the paper.
I'd be grateful if someone would tell me their oppinions about the two books i've mentioned in the post above.
