I like it. Although it's not done yet, course. ^^;

* ADD MORE DETAILS. Add wrinkles.... on the bed... and the cholthes.

It looks like he's wereing new cholthes... Add rips and tears and patches to his cholthes to make him more hobo! Make him look like he has taken a shower for days. DIRT! Yellowing teeths.

Look up pictures of hobos on the internet. =/

*Don't forget to shade in the walls as well.... from light to dark

* The colors.... do you want the viewer to view the bed first or the hobo first? Give the hobo warmer colors to bring him out. Or change the bed.... from pink to a cooler color.

*Give the hobo more pinks and flesh tone colors.

I'm loving it. =]

Although I could go farer into it. As in adding more darker shadows.... and shading in each and every brick making it slightly more realistic.

You did the lazy way. It's looks way too flat.

Anyways. I sort of liked grey with the coloring touches that you had before goes for the design. =/

Too much desaturation on the colors especially the skin tones, those should be richer in reds and not so much on grays.

hey man, that sucks about the robbed thing, but getting the 20" G5 is awesome, yeah liking the new line art, look's way more confident, the bum has definate throwbacks to olaf but i am not saying thats a bad thing, and yeah i agree with you on the life drawing thing, its not easy to just do life drawing all the time, but yeah new stuff looking cool, oh and i have started posting in the DSG's and i have work going into the sketchbook, so check it out.

ok, this isn't an update... just a gloat

i just found out my results for my design portfolio submission (end of high school) and yes thats right i have been waiting three months for these results.....

i got "Outstanding Scholarship"!!! thats the top mark possible, 18 people got it im my country across all the visual art areas!!

HAHAAAAAA!

of course there are only about 4 million people in New Zealand, but still.

the one sucky thing is that a "scholarship" isn't much of a scholarship its just more of a name for a mark, i think i get $500 NZ (about $270 US) when compared to this years uni fees of $5000 its pretty insignificant, but oh well, i'm pretty happy anywayz

holy BAJEEZUS its been a while

sorry guys, i don't know if i'm worthy of a sketchbook here.... i really doubt i'll be able to update too often. i've really been struggling doing my assignments for uni and sketching for here....

anyway, here are my last weeks better doodles and a wip painting

also i'm just learning zbrush, this was my first proper attempt.... and my very first attempt at texturing in zbrush(its pretty bland i know)

its just a sculpt i did in Zbrush while learning the program.... (yes Zbrush is a program, just in case that is what you don't get)

Cool model Kronos, but I think you need to work on coloring. Both your texture and your color work tends to be rather lifeless. Not much detail for one, and the actual hues are all the same within a given area. Try and putting in cool or warm shadows and such, to give your stuff more depth, and with texturing, really focus on details.

With that model for example, look up a gazelle or some similar creature and try to mimic the skin just for practice. It's quite a bit more complex than what you have right now. You need to work on that because it will enhance both your texture work and your coloring.

Kronos, wow, I'm really digging these last sketches, nothing to crit at all, they great. I'm really liking that your getting into zbrush, I'm doing the same actually, my plan was to dive into it during spring break, but I didn't get to it. I'm a 3d modeling major at the academy university in San Fransico. I love modeling in 3d, but my heart is drawing. I think the two both really compliment the other well. I would say great start on your sculpt in zbrush I haven't even made it that far. I got a few zbrush tutorial dvds from gnomens workshop. Is that blue pen or pencil? if its pen thats really awesome, I'm sturggling with pen right now, I need to do more stuff with the pen, thats for damn sure. Very awesome sketchbook, keep em coming man.

Nice, i love drawing with Biro's they have a very specific style of line that it hard to replicate with anything else, your coming along leaps and bounds my friend, hope the ZBrush stuff is coming on as well for you as it is me,

wow oh wow has it been a long time.....

well, uni finnished a while ago and i started checking back here on a somewhat regular basis but not really posting anything. well i'm posting now.

i'm a little confused by the new attachment thing, does it mean you can't comment between images? hopefully i'll get it right in one go.

anyway, here is the update, quite big i suppose, but considering the time its been since i last posted it should probably be 20 times bigger.... oh well i'm getting into drawing again fairly frequintly so i should have some more updates soonishy?

some of these are new, some are old, some are wips, some are...well not

well here is a SP i did tonight.... unfortunately the likeness is pretty good

it's a little washed out be cause i actually painted it REALLY dark, i dunno what i was thinking, but yeah only really realized it once i'd finished and quickly adjusted levels to post it on here.... i bet half of you can't even see a thing, opps!

the scene was kindof inspired by a sketch of a guy on a mushroom in someone's SB but i can't remember who it was, SORRY WHOEVER YOU ARE!

i was quite pleased how this one turned out, it just started out as a cartoony sketch then somehow ended up like this, fun playing with texture overlays.... i was also quite surprised how anatomically ok it is, as i didn't use any reference (the ear makes no sense whatsoever though).

i know there is hardly any hue variation whatsoever, thats one thing i should really study(as in flesh tones and stuff)

HEY recursive...oops! i mean Daniel! your latest works are FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFing incredible, you have improved SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much since i met you, and don't be modest you know its true
