what to do i cant afford school not sure of options?

hi ive been planning on going to AIC for some time now. Yesterday i found out all the details. Basically tuition is right around 19. They will only pay 11 and thats with every grant, even student loans!!! Im supposed to pay the other 8k within a 9 month term(1 full school year). My parents are absolutely no help. If anyone has any ideas or can give me some direction on this matter I would appreciate it. I thought because i only made 11k last year that i wouldnt have any problems with finacial aid. I guess i was wrong

    Who's "they"?

No one can really afford private schooling. That's what private loans are for.

What school is AIC? Who are "they" you refer too in paying the 11 of your tuition? What field, or major would you be focusing on? How long have you been planning to goto college? How old are you?

well im 24, i dont have to include my parents. The school is the Art Institute of Colorado. I understand private schooling is expensive but i cant pay 8k a year. Im going for a bachelors in media arts and animation. Apparently the 11k is with stafford subsidized, unsubsidized loans, pell grants as well. The only option they gave me is a Creative education loan that would cover the 8k but you have to have good credit, which i dont(car repo blah blah i was really young and stupid lol). Does this sound right or am i getting played with here? Thanks.

If you can't get a scholarship from the school (which probably wouldn't be 8K anyway), you're going to have to get a loan. If your credit is not good enough, find a co-signer with stellar credit and go to your personal bank or credit union first (they're more likely to help when they already have some of your money/titles as collateral).

Enter the lastest T-dome if you can.

    Otherwise, start saving my friend.

Get a hold of that school's Financial Aid office and talk to them. Explain your dilemma. See what sort of student loans they might have to offer and if there's work study on campus. And if that doesn't pan out, go bust a hump with some job and sock away every nickel to pay for it.

No one ever said things come cheap nowadays but it's gonna take some discipline on your part to pay for school.
