Yeah dude I'm in mesa.
Sierra Vista is a bit south, otherwise I'd say hell yeah.
Good luck!![]()
And I'm in north Phoenix
Hi, my name is Fabien,
I live in north Phoenix.
(anyone going to first/third fridays in phoenix?)
Prof AZ, I'm in Tucson...I'd love to get a regular group together. There's only so much I can learn from on-line tutorials--my PS skills sucketh. There's a ton of open studio life drawing available too. Well, by "a ton" I mean about 4 or 5 sessions a week.
Anybody else in Tucson? Speak up!
Lemme know.
-Alex.

Cool Alexx, I don't have an issue either hosting or traveling or both. I get ridiculously low rates on hotels if any 1 needs em, I don't like to drive roundtrip in a day even if it is only two hours. I'm Flying to Fargo on Christmas to meet my biological father and his side of the family, I'm a bit nervous and confused, I should be feeling rather artistically motivated upon my return on the 3rd.

I could be up for something -- let me know whatever gets set up.
Cool....we'll chat on the third!

Awesome! This is really coming together well. I'll post here when I get back. My email is [email protected], and my number is 480-430-3305, if anyone has any questions. Thanks every1 for their responses.

Hello hello hello evry1! Happy Holidays! I'm back in town, lets start to work out a way to get this sketch group going. I'm in South Scottsdale, I am willing to go just about anywhere if it helps. I make my own schedule. so I cna be wherever whenever. I figure if we start to get a list of who lives where and who has wheels, we'll be able to pick a spot more conducive to the group as a whole. If u call me, text me 1st, I don't answer the phone if I dunno the #. Cool.....
Thanks! Lets get this show on the road...where duz every1 reside?

First Fridays is a street fair that happens in downtown Phoenix on the first Friday evening of every month. Tonight in fact. It's worth doing, and it runs late so there's still time tonight if you hurry. But not for me I'm way out in Gilbert and I just don't feel like it.

A sketch group would be great though. I'm going to the zoo to sketch animals tomorrow. What'cha all doing Sunday?
Hi all
I don't think anyone actually visits this forum more than once a year so I'm probably wasting my time but here goes.
We have a great life drawing group going on at Chandler Gilbert Community College, every Saturday 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
This is a non credit class. Basiclly the college just lets us use the room and hire our own models.
The cost is $40.00 for the model fee per session. So if 10 people show up your 40 bucks gets you 10 weeks. If only one person shows up it's 40 bucks for that day.
I know this is a tough sell since you can't know what you're getting, so I'm making this one time guarantee: If at least one person from Conceptart shows up this Saturday and puts in just $20.00 I will make up the difference myself for the next two weeks. So you'll get a minimum of two sessions for $20.00.
Obviously it behooves us to get as many people involved as soon as possible to get the most we can out of this.
It has dwindled down to a few core people these last few weeks and that makes it awfully expensive for us so we can't let it go too much longer.
If no new people come out this week we'll just have to cancel the whole thing so don't wait for some future chance this is pretty much it.
Thanks

Hey all you local artists!
We're getting a sketch group together starting this Saturday May 27th, 10:AM till 2:00 PM just outside the food court at Fiesta Mall in Mesa.
That's at the corner of Alma School and Southern just above the freeway.
There's nice seating in the shade outdoors, but if it gets too hot there are several places inside that we could use plus; it's a mall, so there's restrooms, food, drink, stuff to do if you're bored etc.
Bring your sketchbook, bring your portfolio, your friend, your mom whatever. Share ideas, techniques stories, meet other artists including some real professionals. It'll be like our own miniature Montreal Workshop...sort of.
Questions or concerns e-mail me; [email protected] or call 480-228-3639
Hope to see you there.
alexx - Oops, looks like I should check in here a bit more often, huh? I can't believe how many folks who want to get together live in Phoenix or Tuscon. Scottsdale is a bit far for me to justify with my Finance Minister (read loving wife), but I may be able to squeeze in a trip to Tuscon one of these weekends.

Well last week's sketch group was small, but fun so we're doing it again. This one will be Saturday June 10th 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Food court at Fiesta Mall in Mesa. This is on the corner of Alma School and Southern, just above the US 60 freeway.
We'll start outdoors under the shade trees and then move inside when it gets too hot. I'll have a small sign on the table that says: "Sketch Group".
Hope you guys can come. Bring a friend , bring a sketchbook, portfolio whatever.
Well I'm still just talking to myself here, but some day somebody has to look in here right?
Last Saturday's Sketch Group was a blast and is gaining numbers and momentum. So we're doing it again: Same time and place Saturday July 8th.
Hope to see you there.

Living just three hours away is a curse and a blessing at the same time. Great to hear the sketch groups are going so well. When is the Comicon? I thought it was in September?
ComiCon is just a little over a week away. I've never been to one and don't know what to expect, but we got free tickets and a free hotel room so we can hardly pass it up.
Where do you live that's three hours away? Flagstaff?
Naw, the south end of the state in Sierra Vista, where it's about 10 to 15 degrees cooler than Phoenix and Tuscon during the summer.
