great work maxetormer.
your pictures are so impressive, good anatomy and everything else.
but to give at least one idea and not go into raptures:
i think the nails through jesus' hands should go into the other directions.
at least thats what i think he was hanging there.
must sound very nitpicky....
keep on posting
GReeaaaattttt update mannnn !!

Awesome pencilpages, man! I think the lifestudy at the bottom there is the best of the batch (even though the one with the tattoo on her back rocks as well...)
The page with the dude with a tattoo of a tree on his chest is awesome as well.. good twisting of the anatomy! Looks really dynamic!
Keep 'em coming!

I'm loving the new stuff. The ink landscape and the croquis(is that spelled right?) are really kickass pieces. The portrait of the old dude has some proportionl issues in the face, like the lenght from his jawline to his nose compared to the lenght from his nose to his brows.
I hope you get that comission you are competing for, the sketches look promising.
The new characters are really cool. And good luck with the commission!
The latest skinny girl is rather creepy. She needs to eat a cake or something.

you diged her man!!

stuff coming, yeah that model had one asum tatoo I hope
she returns to the life drawing seccion the next time cause
I had a blast drawing her, thanks props man I need it that
Inkfish: Well actually the guy kinda disliked all my proposal
from a style and composicion poit of view, and when he started
to tell me that he wanted to pay me 100 bucks for a 120 meter
by 1 meter oil painting, in wich I was not gonna have not even
the sligthes artistic freedom I decided that this was a client
I could live with outat least I learend a few tid bits
about what to expect form some ppl, thanks for the props
man Im glad you liked some of the stuff Im pulling lately,
staylor: he he yeah I agree ill feed my wimen better for the next time
thanks for the props and for the good wishes (even if this comision
was not meant to be i apreciate the support a lot!!)
Ok this one is the lastest charcoal SP I made I learned quite a few
things on this one and fell I succed on most of the goals
I seted up for this drawing, and some life inks, still a long
way of doing life studies before I comprehend volumen properly
See ya in the next update!!

Sweet Sp, bro! You got the values much better down in this one than the last one!
Cool idea with the thick black line running down the page on the quick sketches! Even though some of the lines in the sketches could've been a bit more defined... Might be me, but the line is a bit distracting seeing as how it's so hard compared to the rest there.
peace
d-C
hmm not sure if your face as a whole isn't abit more "pouty" than you portray yourself. atleast from what i remember from prague, you seemed to be "fleshier" in the face.
hmm...but generally very good setup of volume and lightning.

dCepT: yeah Im still figureing out how to handle the line weights and compos
for my pages, ill consider your critic for the next ink experiment for sure!!
thanks for droping by
Carnifex: thanks, well some times my beard make me look more fleshy and
some time is makes me look more lean, perhaps it due that, I cheked
on my mirror several times and i think that proporcion wise this one
is very close as how I look this days, thank for the critics keep those coming!!
Ok so some graphite practice, dam I still puzzled as how to shade
with the dam mechanical pencils!!no ref except for the girl on
the upper left and my face

hey man, I'm just going to write a messy suggestion before I head off to bed.
You need to work on your edges. When you render, you still seem to have this "over defined" plane thing going on, with those sharp, abrupt light\dark transitions. Take a look at Llevellyns/Puddnheads' drawings. The one thing that makes his drawings pop out, is his constant commitment to the shapes. For instance, if he wants to draw a rounded shape, his pencil strokes will follow the surface, in order to sucsessfully describe it. I think your drawings are suffering some slight stagnation; you constantly want to create blocks out of everything, each with their core shadows and what not. The result is, i think, stiff figures and wonky faces. While blocking things in is a great way to gain insight to the substance and volume of your subjects, it can also turn into bad habits if you completely incooperates it as your style.
So, in short, what I'm trying to say is:
Commit to the shape, not the representation of the shape.
Hope that helps![]()

Yo dude after reading your critic I decided to this drawing,
I must have stared at Llevellyns pics for nearly a decade, then
I felt the urge to make something, this was the result, thanks
for the kick in the nuts, I need that, no refs this time
![]()
Dude! that's such an improvement! i really like how the face turned out. That said i think you still have some "blockishness" going on in the torso area, if you'd work that out this would be a real killer piece. Like the other updates too.
Sorry about that comission, but i think 100$ for that type of comission is way underpaid.
Keep on rocking![]()
awesome updates!
i love em all!!
cheers mi amigo!
