Ok here it is my very first coloring experiment using alcohol inks with prisma colors
and acrilics using Coros tutorial, it was a real blast I use wood inks (cause
those were the only kind I could find :p ) but I kinda liked the result so
I will do more of this and more mixed media experiment of all kind,
beeing messi with paints is fuuunnn!!
some portrait practice left form refs rigth from my head
This started as an overpaint on a sketch of seth1 but after he gave me
the original ref he used I got caugth up and this is the result I tryed

Nice update matethat outdoor studies and other life studies are awesome man...i have to do the same too...that kid lookin nice..
btw alcohol inks? man...never heard before...LOL have to check...![]()
Ohhh the kid is nice! Also love the quick studies of faces and expressions! Lovely Sktechbook. Keepin my eyes on this one![]()
Good stuff. That coro-style drawing turned out really nice. Those inks make for some interesting tonal shifts. Well done. I'm familiar with the technique, but I'm not familiar with wood inks. Where do you get them? Are they cheaper than Prismacolor ($9 for 40ml)? hmm. so many questions...
Anyway, the sketchbook's looking great. Showing some improvement, especially with faces. well done, and keep it up.
really nice colors again
hope you keep posting its always cool watching.
-> back drawing
The colorpiece there with inks and acrylics is HELLA NICE! Damn, bro! I'm looking forward to seeing your sketchbook live again.. whenever that happens...but I'm still looking forward to it
Have a mad cool 2006!!
d-C
Wow. That jump from an ink drawing to color is amazing. It's always great to see all those differences that color can bring to a piece. And I'm a sucker for oranges and ochres. So, do you use a very thin wash of acrylics and inks and then go over it with the colored pencils? I have experimented with something like this in the past, but with no real great success. I guess, i just need to do some more; I like the effect. Well, have a great New Year.
good jow, good thread, ! good year for you ,hope you continue to draw like that in 2006![]()
Outstanding new works <> will crit at SoFA <> life is to short to be on page 2 BTW I think I am your uncle Roberto <> dude looks a lot my sPs
shyamshriram: hi there mate! Thanks for the props, Im glad you liked
the last kid stidy, doing outdoors stuff is real fun, you should
dfenity try out doing some f them for sure, about the wood inks
they are real easy to find I read Coros Tut and he said to use
alcohol based inks, this were the only kind I could find, the idea
is that this type of inks do less damage to the paper as oppossed
while using acrilics or watercolors plus they dry super fast so you get
results in a very short time, give it a try is really fun check out this link:
http://conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=566
fooxoo: Thanks for the vote of confidence, Im happy to have you around
auden100: Hye man thanks for the ecouragment, well prisma color inks
dont get to my city but you can buy wood inks for about 2 dollars per
250 mililiters of it, (18 pesos or so) so its a good deal for me
Miau: DUUDDE thanks for droping by Im glad to have you around again!!
Ill keep posting, as much as I can
dCepT: Cabron!! I will try my best to do better this year for sure,
Im looking forward seening your as well, dunno when this will be possible
but I cant waityour doing some really cool improvemtns,
you to have the coolest of all years man!!
madplanet: Oh I just used Coros well proved recepy like you said a
wsh of alcohol inks then the prisma colors and at last some
acrilylics to puch the lights here and there, just keep at it it works
you just need to get the hang for the tecnique.
Best of lucks man!!
Shylone_Breath: he he thanks lets hope for that
mentler: Thanks for the ecouragment and hell yeah my uncle does looks
like you ( master uncle mentler he he) thanks for the kick on on the arse
will kick in on thrid gear of speed, I cant allow life to win this race 8)
Pk so some inks study for an oils landscape ill do soon and
