Nice man! The ink studies, especially the ones of your family, are looking really good. I like the energy of the last one too. It looks like maybe too much of the far side of your nose is showing though.

The graphite and water experiments look promising, i really like the last sp you posted.
That last SP is killer! That and the one called "furia"! Seems to suit you to work with those mediums.. love to see more of that stuff!
d-C
You've got a great sense of movement with an island of stillness at its core in the last SP, it looks fantastic.
I really love lookiing at other peoples' anatomy studies and your's are no exception the linework is great, nice and fluid with the odd bit of scritchiness for interest.
p.s. Groover is right about the nose though it is definitely twisted toward the viewer

Holy Shit! You found a working stargate to draw yourself walking through?!! Looks like you broke your nose between dimensions! Ha-ha!
That's great man! I've got no crits that haven't been said before... Lots of energy there, and a great technical, media experiment. I've been really enjoying seeing your SPs progress... Have you considered adding more of a narritive to them? That would allow you to practice your technical/observational skills and conceptual/illustrative skills at the same time...
Great works man... Keep 'em comin'!

Sup! I like that last drawing of yours, allthough his head is too small. How far did you go with the prelim before detailing?
Also, i agree that you need to work on your faces. You don't have to go all over analytical, some skull, muscle and construction studies will beef up your knowledge base.
I think your problem was relying too much on the 'skeleton' without fleshing out the rest on your own. (Did that make sense?) I still think your drawings suffer from the abrupt white-to-black transitions. Try using more subtle grays and then fill in the contrast in the places you want the eyes to go....I discovered that beeing to anal on that area can lead to
an incredible amount of stiffness, (at least that was my reaction to
makeing to much analizis, but I do agree that I need far FAR more work
to make my faces sing, (and well all of my anatomy for that matter)...
Geez, I don't make much sense theese days..

Damn dude, I'm super jealous of your inks, so much energy! I love that you can reign it in where you need to, like with the pencil stuff. Do you enjoy the ink or the pencil more?
This is all damn cool, I'll be sniffing around here plenty I'm sure.
n0fish: hey man thanks for the critics, I agree on mot of your points
and yeah I need to study more heads, and welll I need to draw MORE
above all things, getting there, Im swiching gears as fast I can
thanks for the props as well, you to keep that studing and having fun!
Andy P: DUUUDEEEE Im jealous of your crazy incredible inks!!! you
really know how to compose you pages, thanks for the props,
and well I like both tecniques equally I fell that one supports the
other you know shade is nothing with out a good linework, and a
line work without a sence of light and weigth is nothing, so
they are both complementary and one of hell of fun to do
Ok charcoal nude from ref
Ok, back to the drawing table!

I got into a rather glommy mood today
non reference doodles except for the cat
he modeled for me for a few minutes
still lots to do, and little time to do it!
![]()
I'm sorry 'bout your gloomy mood man... I hope things brighten up soon.
Love the updates man! I was at the art store today picking up mat-board, and bought some brush pens... Was thinking of you... And Zebs...
You're killin' the inks lately man!
Nice cat... I usually don't say that unless I'm looking at porn, so... Ha-ha! I don't know, that joke probably fell flat. Sorry, I'm really tired.
Dead eating dinner? That's great! Real Frank Miller feel to it... I really like the dimly lit alcove in the background. That was a nice touch.
Sorry I didn't have anything more constructive to say today... You're doing great man. I can tell you're still struggling with the same ole stuff (mainly stiffness of pose), but you're working through it hard-core, and I gotta' give you major props for that. I love seeing your work, and really admire what you've done so far, and look forward to seeing what's to come!
Take care and be good... And cheer up to!
