wow man those drawings are super fun to look at. i really like your style! ya so those boards, theres a place called pop-cling in la that will do them for you they actually use this sticky vynle (i spell like an idiot) stuff that goes over the board so its not actually printed on the board but it still looks good, check out popcling.com-word but ya your drawings are stuper cool
osu, love the cats illustration. just poking that in here..
yeah, if you have any free time I guess tea would work hehe (quite an old topic but still). otherwise keep pposting¨¨¨¨

Self-improvement is masturbation, Self-destruction on the other hand....
You are just soo awesome!
When I grow up I'm gonna draw just like you!
The figures are pretty nice. And the cats are coming along great!
Good luck with the artist in residence thing!
Also - cats rule! I have three
Have fun now![]()
Great stuff! The line is excellent.
Cheers
Really developing an amazing style. The inkwork is incredible.
The life drawings have a real nice feel to them, you could probably do much of the same, albeit bolder, with your ink. Would be interesting to try and integrate some bold black areas to contrast the supersensitive linework too.
I remember some old cityscapes you posted a long while back, they all looked massive and so bloody packed with specifics.
ink work is awesome, and the studies are great eye candy, - the two cats are the favs of that last post yargh.
Wow love your gestures a lot.
Great Stuff!![]()

cool manhope you get the artist in residency
yo!fantastic sketches!
every now and then an artist comes by and makes me want to completely drop my personal style and copy theirs

yikes!
The values are bliss, the jumbled composition has the same effect as your cityscapes, a sort of chaotic madness of lines and form.
+5
eyyy - cheers for all the thoughts and comments everyone!
Andy P - totally agree on the crit of that scape. I mean, I like certain things in it, certain structures and the pussiecats themselves but there is not enough space in there. Has been a good learning experience though.
Bhanu - yeah, I actually did that in a digital version of the line drawing only. That did calm things down a bit but I haven’t taken it any further though cause I thought the drawing itself was just so so.. Who knows perhaps I’ll work on it someday..
Flaptraps - cheers man. Loving those paints you did and yes - the boards definitely look cool. I was asking cause I work with a furniture maker right now and if everything goes alright we’re gonna do as series of tables with illustrations printed on wood. If it works out I’ll put it up.
Calle - uiiiiiiiisss. Yeah man - ocha. Lets do it sometime. Where are you based again?
Windmaker - haha. Cheers man.
Krossj - cheeers to the render master.. Your stuff is looking real good mate.
Sirgreensock - definitely. I’ve been doing that a bit in the portraits but I’d like to do that on the figures. There often is not enough time though. Perhaps I could work on some when at home though. Thanks for your thoughts man.
Fragmentedchimp - cheers man.. The older stuff should still all be in this book. Its just buried with the page length being only half what it used to be
haha.
System404 - thanks, guess you’ll like this new post then?
Lone wolf - thanks!
Killermachine - thanks man.
Dimagyan - I will, I hope. Thanks for dropping in.
Koppa - word! So the hell do I. Would be such a cool experience. Also to really focus on producing ills and nothing else. I’ll just keep on applying for some of these till I get in somewhere. Hell yeah.
Vandog - cheers man.
AlexC - no need for that man. You got a great stylo going on. That shit all crystals itself out naturally by just the way you look and let your arm move.. Thanks though.
Allright - update time.. Still busy with work so not too much but I did manage to do some more trainsketches, some pen stuff from ref, still lifes, some dicking around with gouache, and some inks at figure drawing again. Hope you dig.
Ah yes, - I updated my site and started a blog thanks to andy and bojee i guess. check it out if you like.

Exciting drawing, man! I really enjoy the way you make everything so simple and keep my eyes in constant entertainment. Inspires me once again to do similar things as you do.
The Prada catalog is something you should really be proud of. There are literally hundreds of graphic designer companies and managers that look for that sort of art to advertise their merchandise. And now that you have landed Prada on your resume, you will get even more offers or another offer from Prada!I was going to ask you how you did it, but from seeing your site, your art talks for itself. I would hire you if I were Prada's marketing manager. A+ art.

oooh fluck yeah! That's what I love to see man, awesome job on this last one - especially the colours, those are taking some cool directions. They're both spontaneous but also intelligently used, and I think it's pretty hard to get the colours working like you've done here:
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...2&d=1193234803
so great ob on there, that one is my fave out of the batch.
Figure drawings are looking solid as always. As a very minor crit, I think your line confidence takes a dip here and there in your figuredrawings. Not sure though could be wrong, could be that the only reason I see it is because your line soooo good elsewhere. As far as ink goes though, that's awesome quality.
Keep it coming man.
(And I'll have an update ready soon (I hope). The last stretch of the year is crashing down on me right now, but once that's done I'm a free man.)

Hey Lok, Been out of the loop lately, but I just wanted to say great job on the last few posts. The one that really jumps out at me is the bowl, that's just sexy.![]()

I got time to read the last four pages today. I really like the way you seem to use lines to take things apart and put them back together for study purposes. It is clear you are not afraid to try things out. These two tendencies are really making for a lot of ability to express more with less. Awesome.

Tensai, your level of refinement on those simplifications is beautiful. I dont know those people but there is something true about them on your lines.
capturing the essence eh?

Hot Damn! Wonderful stuff mate. What size is the book you are using for the train sketches?
Cheers
cheers for dropping me a line every one.
zweiDee - thanks man. I’m not sure I understand your question, but I would definitely like to paint some animations though.
Mattgamer - ‘keep my eyes in constant entertainment’ - thanks man. Sort of blushed when I read that. The Prada work does help a bit with getting commissions yes. The SID book I did before that was what helped me getting that assignment. Thanks for the nice comments man.
Brendan - cheers man. Had fun with the colours too, just something on the side, relaxing, enjoying the changing medium. Especially not being able to edit them afterwards was good.. I think the lines were ok confident, but they do seem a bit more stiff. It depends on how much I’m looking and how I’m holding the pen etc and what I’m trying out. But whatever it is I agree I like the bit more loose ones. Can’t get fixated on that though, otherwise all the fun goes out of it. I’m happy if one of them ends up in my portfolio hehe.
Purb - hisashiburi. Good to hear you are together with your kanojo. Gotta enjoy that too... Why not show some of the drawings you did in your sketchbook? I’m sure I’ll see you around man. Tanoshinde.
Koppa - haha yeah man it’s the pink apt building with the aluminium foil for curtains. Can’t miss it.
Calle - Will do man. Perhaps we can all doo a little train sketching some day..
Bhanu - cheers man. Yeah - blogging will have to get in to doing that steadily. But I’m sure I will..
Entroid - thanks, glad you like.
Amazing Action Ape - cheers man. Its been a great learning experience. If there is anything that will teach you about drawing and concentration and what you want to draw etc etc I think its figure drawing. Can’t believe I let it slide for so long.
Bojee - alan, haha, yeah I should definitely do more sexy bowls. Love your latest series man. Hardcore stuff.
Arttorney - now there is a comment! This is kind of why I like posting here cause people will put something in words that you’ve been doing but hadn’t verbalized yourself yet. Curious how you think I’m taking things apart. Thanks man.
Marioucci - trying yeah. Balancing that abstraction/literal translation thing. Thanks for stopping by man.
KrossJ - still getting used to the new name, especially cause your book still has shinryu as the titel. Thanks for dropping in mate. I’d like to draw as big as possible, well something between A3/B3 and A4/B4 - but the train sketches are all done in a sketchbook I’m always carrying in my back pocket. So it’s something like A6 (15x10 cm). The craftpaper sketchbook I bought in Korea and is ever so slightly smaller, but I really like the paper a lot.
Been busy with work, some just money stuff, and some really interesting - but don't wanna tell too much about it until everything is 100% sure though.
So, not so much to show except for some more figure and train sketches.
Hopefully I can start on some sexy gouache bowls again soon.
Felt like laying back and doing something else with the figures. So I did these with Copic Wide markers...
Unfortunately my A6 craftpaper sketchbook is full. I have to get that artist in residency thing in Seoul going so I can buy some more of these suckers.
A sketch for, well, something...
Comments and crits as always appreciated.
Talk to you all later.
