The black spatter on his arms are the insects... I didn't really know how to render them effectively

Gooze Very grungy style that looks excellent. I love the abstract kind of feel to your painting. It's very creepy. Great work.
Hamsta Your bugs are great! Really nice work today.
Dodge Asylum style! Looks good! I like the illustrator feel to your pic.

Grr argh... I sure wish I had time to do one today...
Hamsta: Awesome one today. The bug on the upper lip is a bit confusing to place because of the shadow. What a great image, though. Reminds me of my cat- he's always trying to eat silverfish.
Dodge: Also very cool. Looks like a character I'd like to know more about. I'd be careful about over-using the comic/newsprint effect, even though its, admittedly, badass.

Dodge: Very cool
The actual entry's on the left, and a quick Oogie Boogie is on the right, since he fits the description close to perfectly (save that he has a burlap face).
Not quite on topic, but if I didn't deviate, we'd be seeing a lot of the same thing :P

Again with the pchat.
I work much rougher yet more freely during online drawing sessions than I normally would with my traditional toolset - that being pencil and pen. Not sure if it's an improvement but I find it pushing me stylistically in a different direction than what I'm used to, which can't be all bad.

A fast one

Amerasu Hmmm, not an easy piece to crit. Head is a bit too elongated, which has an annoying effect. The random spatter of bugs isn't really working, try to work more on illusion of mass, rather then making one bug at a time. Shoulders don't exactly look like shoulders, and not sure if you wanted them in, making it look like you tried to avoid the issue but didn't quite manage.
I think the textures are defenitly a good direction here, both for the brown paper and the bg.
Phaethon Glad you liked it
