    Halloween Yard Art

Just for laughs I cranked out a bunch of these to try to sell for Halloween. They range from one to seven feet tall and are painted with latex house paint on various wood scraps that I have salvaged from junk piles around the neighborhood. I'm going to try to sell them in my front yard while I'm working on other stuff this week. But this weekend I'm going to get a roadside sales license from the city so I can sell them on a street corner.
    Wish me luck.

That beats the shit out of the crap most people sell! Best of luck, though I doubt you'll need it... Let us know how things turned out!

Thanks everyone, you are all too kind.
I usually get $5.00 a square foot for sign work, so I was going to use that as my pricing standard here except that I can't let even the tiny ones go for under $20.00 and I don't think anyone will pay more than $50.00 for the biggest ones so they are all ranging between 20 and 50 bucks.
I've had these out yesterday and today while I was working in the carport. A few people have stopped and looked, but so far there have been no actual takers. Then again it's a low traffic street. I suspect I won't sell any untill this weekend when I can take them somewhere more visible.

It's a shame, and not a reflection on the art, but I can't see anyone paying 50 bucks for this sort of thing. You're gonna get families driving by, maybe even kids bugging their parents to stop and take a look, and 50 just seems too pricey. Maybe 15-30 would be more appropriate? I don't know...but it's a great idea nontheless.

Yeah I'm competing with mass produced stuff from Wal-mart so it's hard to price competitively. Most of them have $30. price tags on them. At worst I'll have the coolest looking yard on the block this Halloween. I did just sell one to my neighbor though. Hooray!
